Packers Poll: NFL Victory Of The Week

It's ironic we've scheduled this poll on election day. The two are not related. The Prilosec poll has been posted every Tuesday morning for the past several weeks. And this poll is a real stinker, except of course for the Packers victory. I expected all of these teams would win this week except the Packers.

Even the Lions, who've outscored their opponents overall this season and are playing better than their 2-5 record. Plus they had the advantage of going up against the Redskins, and according to head coach Mike Shanahan, their starting QB is fat and stupid. I'm not sure I would have picked the Buccaneers despite the fact that they are the best team in the NFC, but someone had to win that stinker. Voting for the Packers is the obvious choice.

Obvious choice, indeed!

+1 more

Come on… going on the road w/ a depleted defense against a pretty high powered team coming off a bye… and pitching a shut out… how is that anything but the victory of the week?

Well

Anytime the Lions win is big news. Especially over a team that both the Bears and Packers could not put away. I can certainly understand the swing towards that way.

Victory of the week

By all means this is a great victory by a hurt and out-of-sync team. They came together and understood what was on the line, first place in the NFC north. They played hardnose from whistle to whistle and kept the penalties to a minimum. Now after all of that, I would keep an eye out for the Lions…..They could honestly finish with a better record than the Vikes and I would laugh up a storm at all my Bear fan co-workers if the Lions ended up w/a better record than the Bears, but it could happen so you better watch.
Next year, it could be Lions and Packers fighting for the division.

It has to be Packers over Jets

The Packers shut out one of the best teams in the AFC on the road after the team had a bye week. Everything suggested that the Jets should win that game.

Down the line:

  1. - Saints over Steelers: Just as impressive of a win, edge goes to Packers based on the road factor.
  1. - Lions over Redskins: Lions are better than you think, and they beat a team that is closer to average. Plus, Lions were favored. Still, it’s a nice win for a struggling franchise.
  1. - Chargers over Titans: They needed the win to stay in contention for the AFC West.
  1. - Bucs over Cardinals: It’s a road win, but the Cardinals aren’t as good as you think.
  1. - Colts over Texans: Only reason this was considered was because the Texans won earlier in the year, but in a normal league, this is a normal result.

Don't know why it formatted that way....

It should be 2, 3, 4, 5, 6 down the list.

This is one time...

where we really deserve to get the vote. Its not just the win but how it was won…its an easy choice.
