Thanksgiving Open Thread #2: Saints at Cowboys
The line is only the Saints by 1 over the Cowboys? The Jason Garrett as head coach feel good story is going to end at some point once they realize they are still the same team that started 1-7 and Jon Kitna is their quarterback. The Saints let the Seahawks hang around for a while last week, but how exactly are the Cowboys going to stop QB Drew Brees? And the return of RB Reggie Bush (not guaranteed) would make it even worse because he is a matchup nightmare.
More on this game from Canal Street Chronicles and Blogging The Boys.

Slow site day
Saints are knocking the Cowboys back down to earth in the early going.

NFC field is looking strong and crowded...
With the way the Saints are playing, throw them in the mix. Any of seven teams could represent the NFC this year. It’s crazy. We could have a 10 win team not make the playoff (or two).
OK, I'm up from my nap
Geez, doesn’t look like I missed much. The rules say that he was down, but my eyes tell me that was a fumble.
happy thanksgiving!
cowgirls in full-on poop the bed mode again. gotta love it.

Wow, this one's a snoozer
Saints D is looking awful strong, but it’s against Kitna, so who can really tell?
OTOH – Saints have outscored their opponents 88-32 in their last three games. Packers have outscored their opponents 87-10 in their last three. Gotta think the Saints will be watching our game on Sunday to see if and how we shut down the Falcons’ offense and apply what they learn in Week 16.

I’m tired of these bs games on Thanksgiving. I would like to c the Packers play on this day in the future!

Count me out
If we could play every game in our schedule on Sundays at noon, I’d be ecstatic. Gets the team in a rhythm and lets the minor nicks heal more between games.

Yeah, didn't think so
Kicked it after it hit the ground twice.

Never seen a kick like that.

If it had hit the ground once
It would have been a dropkick, and legal. Since it bounced more than once, though, it was illegal.

Not sure why.

Five minutes to go...
The Cowboys with the amazing comeback…from 17 down to take the lead….
Kinda daring Drew Brees to beat them at this point, though.

Oddly
What the hell happened there? I’m not seeing anything different, except the Cowboys seemed to have gained a little speed at the half. Is Jason Garrett that good at halftime adjustments?

I'm not sure,
Though I wouldn’t be surprised if Dallas finds a way to blow this game.

So how was everyone's Thanksgiving spread?
I did indeed make a simplified chicken cordon bleu. If I’m gonna keep making that, I’m gonna have to figure out the right mix of spices in the breading. Any suggestions?

Cowboys hanging on by their finger nails!
Brees is no Favre, I think the Saints might do it
Told ya...
Brees is NO Favre… like clockwork…
The really sad part is that at this point in their careers, Hasselback is better than Favre
If only he ever had an O-Line.

By the way...I want Dallas to win...
get us off the record book…biggest comeback win in TGday history, Dallas over Green bay in 1994 right? This would take our loss off the books…
The sad thing is,
Fox HAD to bring up that game earlier, when they said Garrett played in it.

It still counts :/
It’s just not as historic anymore. And that game is why I want the Cowboys to never, ever win another game. Ever.

My best friend’s sister’s boyfriend’s brother’s girlfriend heard from this guy who knows this kid who’s going with the girl who saw Buhhler pass out at 31 Flavors last night. I guess it’s pretty serious.

12 yards away from FG range...
But you have to go for the kill shot…go deep
Memo to Garrett:
That is not going for the kill. With a questionable field goal kicker, you need to go deep.

very close...
wide left by just 3 yards…had the distance…

I actually picked the cowboys! The point spread was almost pick ’em in any case.
I thought it was NO -4.5

Five minutes ago...
…it was fire Sean Payton
That would have been more justified
The real problem is that this is a 2009-type victory for the Saints. The rest of the conference could be in deep, deep trouble if they keep playing like this.

Just an observation
Was this the longest game ever? Not many flags and a couple of challenges, but I think it took well over 3.5 hours to play.
