Sunday Morning Open Thread
All the bad games are in the morning, but they're are still a couple of interesting ones. The Buccaneers at Falcons could feature two teams battling the Packers for a wild card spot, or in the playoffs. The Bears in Toronto against the Bills is an awful game, but could it be the Bills first win of the season? The Lions are playing better than their 2-5 record indicates and they could challenge the Jets if QB Matthew Stafford can get his offense moving (a big if).

Go Bills!
They’ve played Baltimore and Kansas City close the last few weeks. Time to close the deal.
I’m actually rooting for the Lions, even though they’re technically a division rival. Is that wrong of me?

Nope
The lions haven’t been a “Rival” for a decade. Root away.

Frank Caliendo could just be the least funny guy on TV. His act is ancient and wasn’t even funny 10 years ago. Oh, your Bill Clinton and George Bush. They are really present in the news nowadays. What a hack.

AD usually tears it up in the second half
the problem this year is that the Vikes are losing by that point and putting the hands in ball of Favre and taking it out of AD
by Goldenarmadillo4 on Nov 7, 2010 12:30 PM CST up reply actions
True but I think a lot of that is just Childress going away from the run too. I don’t think they’ve ever been down by more than 7 or 10 in the second half have they? I think Childress just gets pass happy.

So question
Why does everyone think Frazier is going to be the saving grace for Minny… I mean he’s going to keep similar schemes and not change the playbook much (not enough time to do that) and lets be honest… His defensive lines were awesome when he had Allen and the WIlliams Wall in their prime and can’t do much w/o that
by Goldenarmadillo4 on Nov 7, 2010 1:03 PM CST reply actions
Bingo. He won’t be. He was lucky to come in and inherent so much talent on defense. That talent seems to be declining now, and in a year or two, people are going to have to be replaced.

I thought it was hilarious when Cherilos Gosder (or whatever his name is) of the Lions hit him when he was pursuing on the back end of a play, and Allen thought it was a cheap shot. There was nothing cheap or illegal about that play, but Allen has been fined a few times for cheap shots on QBs so the irony would have been delicious anyway.

Last year I told a bunch of Vikings fans that the only thing between them and a Super Bowl was Childress and they got PISSED. The conversation only deteriorated from there. I wonder what they’re thinking right now?
by I voted for Kodos on Nov 7, 2010 1:30 PM CST reply actions
They’d probably agree with you. Every Vikings fan I know is like that. When things are going good, every single one of their players or coach is the best! And when things go wrong, the story turns to, “Man, they all suck. Childress is the worst coach in the league, and AP fumbles too much.”
by packallday555 on Nov 7, 2010 1:36 PM CST up reply actions
And this is why Vikings fans annoy me so much. Last year, there were so many “fans” who “loved” the Vikings, but two years ago they couldn’t even see out a playoff game! I really dislike the Bears but their fans don’t really annoy me as much (except for the ones that hurl racial slurs at people after games).
