It's a critical game for the Packers with the Cowboys at Lambeau. The crowd is preped and everyone is hoping that the Packers can pull it out and get good win. The offense performs well enough but the defense puts in a truly special game. In this performance one player steps up and takes what is looking to be a good year into a great one...one that puts him as a front runner to being the Defensive Player of the Year. In fact you may even be able to sense the tides turning on the season.
The guy I'm thinking of is Charles Woodson...but this year we got a repeat performance of this by Clay Matthews. What is it with playing the Cowboys that puts some of our defensive stars raise their game and turn in a career performance.
What more could the Claymaker do? Sacks? Got it. Key stop? Got it. Disrupt the offense on a consistent basis? Got it. Get a turnover? Done. Score a touchdown? Yup, that too.
We are watching something special here ladies and gentlemen. If Matthews can keep this up after the bye and down the stretch we could be watching the making of a DPOY performance. Just like another Packer who turned in a career game against the Cowboys in a key game at Lambeau a year ago....
