Hello there Packers fans. This is Fooch from Niners Nation swinging by to say hi. I'm answering some questions for Brandon (I'll get that email to you later today!) but in the meantime, I wanted to open the floor for any and all questions and comments you guys might have about the 49ers. I'll post a link to this FanPost over at NN as well and get our readers over here to discuss the team.

The 49ers have had a season filled with disappointment, and yet they keep drawing us in because in spite of being 4-7, they're only a game out of first place in the NFC West. I'd imagine somebody in the NFC North or South is going to be pretty pissed off when an 8-8 or 7-9 NFC West team is hosting a playoff game and a 10-6 team is potentially sitting at home. It's kind of a bizarre situation but if the 49ers make the playoffs in any form or fashion I certainly won't complain!

The big story this week is that Frank Gore is finished for the season, as he was placed on injured reserve with a small fracture in his hip. It sounds like he'll be fine for next year, but he's finished this year. You guys will get to see our own version of Thunder and Lightning as the 49ers roll out veteran Brian Westbrook and rookie Anthony Dixon. My understanding is that your rush defense isn't spectacular so I'd imagine the 49ers will look to take advantage of that.
