it's up to Matt Flynn to not turnover the ball
and up to the D or ST to score a touchdown.

NOOOOOOOO
It’s the first week of my Fantasy Playoffs. I am so boned without Rodgers playing the rest of the game.

I have Jennings and feel about the same way with Rodgers going down
Don’t think much passing will be done by the Pack in the 2nd half
So who is the #3 QB
MM always said there was a contingency plan, would be nice to know what that is now
Jordy
While MM tries to keep it quiet, it’s widely believed that Jordy Nelson is the third QB.
Interesting
Holmgren would bury guys on the bench after a turnover.
Holmgren also looks like a walrus
Not sure what that has to do with your statement, I just wanted to say that.

In Wisconsin's last trip to the state of Michigan
they got 380 yards of total offense…in the first half.

Rushing?
379 of them rushing? That is what an O line should look like.
Total offense.
Tolzien was 13-14 in the first half on passing. He attempted just one pass in the 2nd half.

Ok.
We have to get the run/PA game going, Flynn is a more than adequate backup. I just hope I have reason to do the Charles Woodson interception dance in my bedroom this game.
If Green Bay scores
then Stanton will have to throw. That would be…………..interesting
How?
It’s a defensive struggle. Our offense isn’t clicking. I’m a combo of worried, pissed, and shit my pants scared but it’s not an awful game.
it's frustrating
but being frustratingly off-balance isn’t as bad as not having the weapons to do anything with. We just need to figure out how to get the ball to the receivers
Time for those halftime adjustments
I think McCarthy’s always been good with that
Let's not forget
I realize it’s college, but really how bad can a National Title winning QB be in the NFL?

Flynn has shown, in pre-season, that he can at least throw the ball accurately
I certainly feel better about him than I did Brian Brohm
A question from a Lions fan
What happens if Flynn gets hurt? No I don’t want it to happen, just wondering.
The Lions sign a kid from Oklahoma State a couple of weeks ago. After that, Oh Boy!
we ususally dont activate our third string qb
so apparently its Nelson or Swain, which means we would be running every play

Normally I would say yes
because they called a timeout right after the injury and let him go back out for a couple plays. However, this IS his 2nd concussion of the season – an injury he’ll have to start taking very seriously if he wants to have an NFL career.

He almost did last drive
No reason to say he can’t finish it off this drive. And even if we do lose we can still beat the Giants to get into the playoffs.
if Chicago beats Minnesota and we lost to Detroit
then a win versus Chicago doesn’t win the division no matter what else happens
and that might be the game
Flynn can’t lead this team to a touchdown drive. This is just not a fair season for us.
by ThroughBeingCool on Dec 12, 2010 2:31 PM CST reply actions
That one is the defense
GB had multiple chances to get a stop and didn’t.
They have been on the field all game
Offense has done nothing. Getting tired. They have played their Fing asses off.
That Pick in the endzone was a backbreaker.
but Flynn has moved the ball on there D today.. don’t give up hope just yet..

Well if we lose this game and miss the playoffs because of 1 loss

This whole defense is tired thing is weird
GB had held the ball more in the second half until that last drive
YOu're looking at the entire game TOP
At the end of the first quarter we had only held the ball for about 4 minutes…
they looked pretty tired though
they’ve been on the field almost the entire first half
It's not about the defense being tired
It’s about probabilities and the ability to shut a team out in their place. The Packers almost did it. If you hold a team to 7 effing points you should win. Period. End of Story.

They’ve been very hit and miss all season. The Packers have a chance against any team with Rodgers, but looking more and more like a finesse team.
It's not that the Packers haven't lost games,
But if you look at games they lose, they have beaten themselves over and over.

FLYNN ABSOLUTELY SUCKS!
F The Packers and F McCarthy! This team is one big effing tease. To lose to the Lions is flat out embarassing. The playcaling was terrible. The running game is non-existant. And Flynn is shit. This team is dead.
Pretty much.
The outlook is not exactly good at this point. Going from controlling much of what can come of the playoffs to hoping for some help. But wow, people calm down, the loss sucks, but holy shit.
by Bush League All Star on Dec 12, 2010 3:09 PM CST up reply actions
Yep
The loss sucks hard because it pretty much ends the season, short of a miracle. I disagree with Yoda9 about Flynn (he simply has not seen enough action to make a fair judgement), but I agree strongly about the McCarthy/Thompson regime. They can put together a good team, but not a champion.
Flynn does not suck.
He’s a kid who’s barely gotten to play. I thought he actually did fairly well considering he didn’t get to prep all week. If the decision to go deep on 4th and 1 was his it was an awful one, but you get that with kids trying to make a play.

I too blame the coaches. Packers werent exactly tearing it up when Aaron was playing.
FLynn doesnt throw that pick and the packers probably win though.
I know,
But Flynn had a chance to win the game at the end, and MM called a shotgun draw (which not surprisingly went nowhere) followed by a home run shot on 4th and 1.
I put more blame on him for calling another horrendous game, because I think, if the Packers pick up that first down, the likely end up winning the game today.

But if you look at Tampa, they have lost twice to Atlanta and got blown out in Raymond James Stadium by New Orleans (they still have another game with the Saints in the Superdome, and NO is playing better now than they did then).
So that’s an 0-3 record against the other two, which I think is too much of a hurdle for the Buccaneers to overcome.
I didn't believe it last August, but it turns out that love survives.

You can beat the Panthers all you want
but at the end of the day, they’re still a terrible football team.

No no no.
If the Bears lose to the Vikings and we win out, we will still be in pretty good position tiebreaker-wise.

Loss Hurts!
I live in Atlanta so ask me how I feel. I was routing for the Packers when we played them. Was taunted all the way to my car and the only answer for that was at least we have 3 superbowl rings. Now come on! What the hell are we losing to the damn Lions for. Go out and get Cowher or Gruden for the love of GOD.
Man, if your gonna fire McCarthy

Agreed. And then have him bring in a top notch offensive coordinator (who wouldn’t wanna work with Rodgers, Finley, Jennings, etc.)

Please tell me you have followed this guy throughout his NFL career. He is not a winning coach, and if that is the case we should have let Ray Rhodes stay there and coach like these other bums have.
Good game. I hope Rogers is ok and able to go next week.
Also please win the rest of your games and win the conference. Screw the bears.

are they allowed to take 3 teams from one division to the playoffs?
not saying its going to happen, but is there a rule that would prevent the South sending Atlanta, N’Orleans and Tampa?
Yeah tampa is secondary.
We should be rooting hard for anyone playing the giants, bears, and giants.

it's going to be funny.
when we all worry about everything and then the bears just completely collapse.

Well, they're finally playing a team (NE) who doesn't beat themselves ... ever.
