Green Bay controls its own fate

Even after a presumptive loss to New England later today, the Packers are in control of their quest in reaching the playoffs. A loss to New England isn't a good thing, but it isn't horrible either as it's a Non-Conference loss. What really changes things is the Lions got the monkey off their back by winning their first road game after losing 26 straight. Congratulations Detroit Lions! Not only did they get the monkey off their back, they gave us a huge victory against fellow Wild Card chaser Tampa Bay Bucs. Not only did the Bucs lose, it was a conference loss at home. Also, big props to Desean Jackson on the game winning punt return for a TD. I just had to step away for a bit when the Giants were punting the ball, thinking the game would go into Overtime. Instead, I returned wondering wtf happened?!

The Giants winning as opposed to the Eagles winning puts us is more control. Now the Giants have to beat us at Lambeau or they're done. With New Orleans losing to Baltimore, they now open up 2 Wild Card spots to chase after. Long story short, if Green Bay loses to New England tonight, but wins the next 2 games against the Giants and Bears, we make the playoffs. Those final 2 games are @ Lambeau. New Orleans still pretty much has the 5th seed locked up regardless though as their loss to Baltimore was a Non-Conference loss as well. Here are my predictions in the final 3 weeks assuming Green Bay loses tonight and Chicago wins:

Week 16:

Packers > Giants

Saints > Falcons (upset, doesn't matter though)

Buccaneers > Seahawks

Week 17:

Packers > Bears

Saints > Buccaneers

Giants > Redskins

Playoff Seeding Prediction:

1. Falcons 13-3

2. Eagles 12-4

3. Bears 10-6

4. Seahawks 7-9

5. Saints 12-4

6. Packers 10-6
