Monday Night Open Thread: Jets at Patriots

EAST RUTHERFORD NJ - SEPTEMBER 19: Rex Ryan Head Coach of the New York Jets greets Bill Belichick head coach of the New England Patriots after a Jets 28-14 win on September 19 2010 at the New Meadowlands Stadium in East Rutherford New Jersey. (Photo by Al Bello/Getty Images)

The second primetime football game this week featuring two AFC teams. So, once again, it has no impact on the Green Bay Packers playoff picture. Still, it should be a good game.

Tolzien is in no way better than Brady or Manning. But he’d be a significant upgrade over Favre (who’s on the downside of his career), VY (who is a disaster this year and has regressed since 07), or whoever the Phins plan on starting a given week.

Given how NFL RBs are often better than whoever Wisconsin has, it would be interesting to see him get a shot somewhere.

That’s my one beef with the challenge system. Why only give coaches two challenges, with the option of three? The purpose is to ultimately correct bad calls right? Why not either give them more, or just have the booth challenge all the plays throughout the game?

Wonder what they’ll do on 2nd down now? They got a sack before off a blitz on first; then rushed 3 on second which led to a 18 yard Brady completion. I wonder if they’ll opt for pressure again here.
