Lockout Likely in 2011?
An NFLPA Exec says that the chance for a lockout next year is 14 on a 1-10 scale. That doesn't sound promising.

That is correct.
If the situation isn’t resolved relatively soon, there will be no football in 2011.

you telling me the same thing will happen to the NFL?
You sir have much to learn. If anything this would help the NFL, give it crazy rating when it does come back.

Well obviously it's never going to be an abscure league
But it is you who have much to learn. A lockout would be the worst idea I can think of for the NFL outside of changing what sport it plays.

oh alright.
I thought you were saying that the NFL would would need to build its fan base and rep back up. Just like how the NHL is struggling to do now.

The NFL would be smart not to give people an option as to what life is like without NFL on fall sundays. America only thinks they can’t live without pro football.
Maybe in order to understand mankind, we have to look at the word itself: "Mankind". Basically, it's made up of two separate words—"mank" and "ind". What do these words mean? It's a mystery, and that's why so is mankind.

Is it just me or does this just seem like posturing.
Could just be trying to add a little pressure to the owners and gain a little extra leverage.
In that case
bring in Shane Falco!

If Gene Upshaw believed in anything
during his time as NFLPA director, it was that the players belonged on the field and not in a football room. I’d like to believe Demaurice Smith is smart to realize that.
For the next year and a half, we’re going to hear alot of posturing, and more from the PA side. Take it all with a grain of salt. The last thing Roger Goodell, Demaurice Smith, Kevin Mawae, and the thirty two nfl owners want is a lockout, just because you can’t be sure you’ll retain one hundred percent of the fanbase when you do come back.
