You Are At the Podium... Who Do You Announce the Packers Pick Is?

At NFL.COM you can sign up to Announce a Draft Pick Live at the 75th ANNUAL NFL DRAFT.  I believe most expenses are paid.   I was just thinking to myself,  I probably won't win and if I did win, I probably wouldn't get to announce the Packers 1st Round Pick anyway.  Probably a 3rd or 4th round pick if I was lucky!  Then I had a devious thought,   "What would I do if I were at the Podium and...

Star-divide

In the scenario for this Dream... The Packers are picking @ #23...  The Players available:  OT ~ Trent Williams,

OLB ~ Jerry Hughes, CB ~ Kyle Wilson ,  RB ~ Ryan Matthews, WR ~ Dez Bryant,  S ~ Taylor Mays, &

LB ~ Sean Weatherspoon,

They hand YOU the card with the Packer's 1st Round Pick and it was someone YOU didn't want to draft?  Would YOU announce what Ted Thompson had on the card?"

Or would YOU play GM and announce YOUR own Pick for the Packers?  I'm sure they wouldn't let US get away with it but, would YOU think enough of YOUR own opinion to Over-Rule TED?  For the sake of argument, Let's pretend that Ted Thompson hands in the Card with Mike Iupati, G ~ Idaho ~  Do you announce his name?  Or do you take matters in your own hands & pull out your own card and ANNOUNCE...  Who?

It’s so tough to say. In a dream world I would say Brian Buluga or Anthony Davis. In the real world I would say Trent Williams or Charles Brown.

If I’m Ted Thompson it would probably be “The Green Bay Packers Select….Washington DE, Daniel Te’o-Nesheim” Then a cascade of boos. We all know Thompson loves to pick 4th round guys with First Round picks couch*Harrell*cough. If it was me? It would be Williams or Mays. We don’t need anymore WRs. We have the Fab Four.

LMAO ~ Troy... Would love to see Trent Williams as a Packer... : )

I sure don’t know about Mays… He might surprise us all and be an absolute animal in the NFL or he could be another bust… Time will tell! I think I’d rather have LT ~ Charlie Brown than Mays right now! : )

trent couldn't beat out vikes loadholt for starting LT at okla.

weatherspoon if he drops people get crazy about those combine times. what about the MLB from florida spikes you have to be tired of peterson knocking over your secondary like bowling pins. dont we all agree ???

Eh, adding another ILB would be nice but we have 4 guys at that position on the roster and it’s not a big enough need.

As for tackling I think we’re alright there. We did have the NFL’s best run defense last year, and did hold AP to 55 yards and 90 yards in our 2 games against you guys. More so then anything else we need some more depth at Cb, and a new saftey to replace Atari “I can’t cover” Bigby.

although we do need oline help and i would love williams i would have to go with kyle wilson because or need in the secondary is greater right now becuase even though it is bad our line did pick it up in the second half and this is a very deep oline draft so im sure we can get a good linemen in the second or third round and a good linebacker in the latter rounds and also for the comment about ted’s picks yes he maid one bad draft pick with harrel how soon does everyone forget the great picks like raji and matthews just laster year or nick barnet or aaron rodgers or even the good trades trading some late round pick for ryan grant he is a good gm if people give him credit or not

@ Adam:

I would not be opposed to Kyle Wilson ~ Some experts have the Steelers picking him @ #18, so if he’s there, I’m sure Ted will take a look at him! Ted has made some great picks and some bonehead picks, every GM has his hits and misses! I for one wish he’d have picked a CB or OT instead of Brohm a couple years ago. If he’d have picked a LT 2 years ago, he’d probably be ready to start this year! I loved him picking Flynn in the late going though! : )

Go Pack!
