Aaron Kampman Wanted To Thank You

From JS Online, LB Aaron Kampman ran an ad in the Journal Sentinel to thank Packer Nation for their support over the years. The font is very small so I've typed the full text after the jump.

I wanted to take a moment to thank you for your support, encouragement and friendship. It's been an honor to serve this community for the past eight years as a member of the legendary Green Bay Packer organization. Linde and I thank God for the years we've spent in Wisconsin, and we thank you for welcoming us with open arms.

For my family, this has been so much more than a job. We've experienced many public and private successes that will stand in our memories forever. Most importantly, we experienced them with you.

I look forward to the day when I'll bring my three boys to Lambeau Field and reminisce about what it was like to be a part of Packer Nation.

Thank you and God bless!

Great player

and a great man. I hope after he’s done in Jacksonville he can come back to Green Bay and be a part of the organization.

Really nice gesture

I think that most will cheer for him in Jacksonville.

@DD:

I think you’re right Donald, I for one will check out how Kampy is doing throughout the year! He’s been much more than a solid citizen and a class act, and one day I hope to see him in the Packer HOF!

He may have been inspired

to do this, thanks to Racine native, Caron Butler. Caron sent a letter to the Washington Post editorial section thanking the fans of DC, after he was traded from the Wizards to the Mavericks.

Anyway, classy guy.

Maybe in order to understand mankind, we have to look at the word itself: "Mankind". Basically, it's made up of two separate words—"mank" and "ind". What do these words mean? It's a mystery, and that's why so is mankind.

I fully believe every word Kamp wrote there

even though many athletes may do this without actually caring about the fans. Kamp is one of the few players in any sport that I really believe connected with his fans. This ad just confirms that in my eyes.

This is a classy move by a classy guy.

I’ll definitely cheer for him in Jacksonville.

Who cares if he's a Cubs fan? This is a football forum! He is a PACKER fan as well. So, from now until March, I’m sure he’ll dedicate a lot of his time here. In late March, then we can be enemies during the baseball season. Besides, the Cubs have perhaps the most loyal baseball fanbase in the country. You have to respect that.

Go Pack!

All the best to Aaron and his family as he begins a new chapter in his playing career.

What a wonderful role model this man is for kids, and for his fellow professional athletes! Thank you for who you are, Aaron Kampman! You will never be forgotten in Packerland, or anywhere that Life’s course takes you!
