If you had to choose one football player to be cloned into all your starters, who?

OK, I haven't seen this odd thought yet. If you had to pick a single football player - past, present, or future (draft) that you could clone into 22 starting football players - offense and defense - which football player do you pick as all your starters? Peyton Manning? Troy Polamalu? Adrian Peterson? Would you choose a lineman for overall power? The mismatches are crazy. But, I have a favorite of mine - Clay Matthews III. The sacks and tackles are already there, but he'd find a way to pass, catch, and run as well. He could play every position, he's got it all.

Thoughts?

I think Tim Tebow probably has the physique to play just about any position well (assuming that each clone comes up through HS & college football playing their designated position). Clay Mathews would definitely be up there also.

Clay is not a bad pick here...

But for the ultimate one player I really dont know… Maybe Urlacher in his prime (he was great at getting to the QB and pretty much everything) or if you want a powerhouse team maybe Joe Thomas… if you had 5 of him blocking maybe he would even be able to run the ball. But back to the more interesting players the skilled positions it would be a strong debate between 3 guys IMO Woodson, Ed Reed, and Troy Polamalu. They all are similiar in being ball hawks and they all have their own seperate strengths. Another guy worth mentioning, maybe a lil homerism, DD. He plays at 110% every down.

Finley??

He’s tall and lean, but not WR lean.

Lawrence Taylor

They’d never give up anything on defense, and probably find some way to score on offense

peter griffin from " Family Guy "

he has that rare size and speed. in that one episode he was the starting center and then he recovered that fumble and returned it for a td. he had to have run over half the opposing teams defense. he plays with passion and with tremendous heart.

plus fat guys win football games.

How About

Warren Sapps vs. Michael Vicks? How could you even predict that game? I would think you would have to stay away from big guys. The linebackers are probably your best option. Fast and strong.

Walter Payton, beyond any doubt.

On offense, you must run, catch, throw, and block. No player in NFL history ever ran, caught, threw, AND blocked better than Sweetness.

He had 9 TD passes in his career, more than Emmitt Smith, Barry Sanders, Jim Brown, Eric Dickerson, Tony Dorsett, and Franco Harris combined. At one time he held the NFL record for receptions by a RB until Roger Craig passed him. He had a 31.7 KR average his rookie season, during which he also punted once for 39 yards. At Jackson State he kicked 5 FGs and 53 XPs, for a total (including his rushing and receiving) of 464 points, an NCAA record at the time. (He had also earned his Bachelors in Communications by age 20, after 3.5 years, and was taking graduate courses in education for the deaf when he was drafted.)

Walter was also an excellent blocker in the backfield, or even leading another ballcarrier. If he hadn’t been a RB, I’d imagine he would have been one of the hardest-hitting safeties of all time, in the mold of Ronnie Lott.

Peyton Manning? Seriously?

Paytons 178, Peytons 3.

How About Bronko Nagerski (SP?) or SAMMY BAUGH???

Bronko was a massive RB & LB too I think???

Slingin Sammy was a great QB, PUNTER, & SAFETY… HE COULD RUN, THROW, TACKLE AND PUNT! Some say he was the best all-around FB player to ever live!? I know that’s debatable… (Isn’t that the point!?) LOL

GO PACK!!!!

Ben Roethlisberger for sure

He can pass as good as anyone. Can Run. Probably Catch. But unlike all the puny guys mentioned here he’s got size to play on the line.

roethlisberger?

He can run throw and take advantage of women when he’s drunk lol

Gale sayers, best football player ever so fast he could be rb or wr, and sure he’d pack a punch on defence at safty or corner
