Why I Hate Twitter

Ok, I don't entirely hate it, there are some good qualities, and there are some bad qualities as well. The thing that irks me the most about it is when it come to the dissemination of breaking or developing news. I'm speaking specifically here about Julius Peppers last night.

Chances are, I was only perturbed because it was Bears fans doing it, but every tweet coming out about Peppers was making me mad. Google has a twitter intergration, where if you Google something and it has been tweeted about recently, the results will show up. So I Google Peppes to see if anything happened with him yet and I saw in the span of three tweets, three seperate teams "official" accounts claiming they had signed Peppers. I say "official" because these were basically just average joes.

It then turned into a game of telephone. Adam Schefter reported that Peppers was meeting the Bears on Friday. Many people interpretted that as he had been signed already, and it snowballed from there.

Maybe it makes me sound like a grumpy old man, but I was just getting frustrated with the quality of "news" last night.

I hope the Bears pick up Peppers

Nothing like having your rival spend a second straight year overspending on a player who will fail to deliver. He’s this year’s Albert Haynesworth.

I don’t know..Peppers is the best DE in the league. He may not always give the effort but even when he is only giving 70-80% he is still better then most of the DE’s in the league. If Tommie Harris can stay healthy this season, he and Peppers could be a dominant duo, along with Brown being a nice compliment at RE. Urlacher coming back for them will be a big help as well. I really, really hope they don’t get Peppers.

Disagree with you here

Peppers has the best physical ability of DE’s in the league but he is not the best DE in the league. I agree that at 70-80% he is better than MOST of the DE’s in the league, but not THE best. Not sure who exactly is but I’m positive it ain’t Peppers. If he gave a shit, maybe. But the fact that he doesn’t simply can’t be ignored.

Frye is honestly gotta be one of the top 10 3rd Stringers in all of the NFL right now--colbyb

Well, if the Bears can win this season I promise you he will give a shit, and if that’s the case he is going to be a nightmare to deal with. Especially if we have Lang or a rookie starting at LT.

Not the best

Jared Allen is far better on the field and in the loker room. Ware and Dumervil are also better pass rushers.

Twitter is stupid…you showed exactly why. Its either people telling me everything they did all day…like I need to know that, or people trying to jump a story and be the first to tell their friends about it so they can get a chubby over being the “first to hear about it”. LAME.

I read somewhere that the Redskins never contacted Peppers. So everyone on twitter who “reported” he was going there was making it up.

Regarding Peppers…He half-assed it last year when he had a contract to play for, how will he play now with 40 million of whatever in his pocket?

Who knows…maybe he’ll be this year’s Orlando Pace for the Bears. They were so excited about him. How’d that work out?

Sure hate to think we’re going into the season without one LT on the ROSTER!!! Before anyone says anything… LANG is not a LT… : )
