we need linemen
are oline aint lookin good but resigning clifton definatly helps but we are still so young i dont think its gonna make nuch difference, and with so many linemen going in the first round whoever we get isnt going to help us very fast, and rodgers is going to be under more pressure with all the new free agent the nfc north got(peppers, vandonboshe) . there are plenty of good vetern linemen that can help us now and allow our younger llinemen to get bigger and better. there are plenty of good linemen out there on tenders for no more than a 3rd or 4th round pick. beside with so many good defencive players this year we need to definatly need to take advantage of this and not waste our 1st pick on a linemen we could get in the 2nd.
any thoughts?

aye kan spel wel
Use spell check plz, though the Pack could use two young starting tackles to replace Tausch and Cliffy within a year, it seems the draft is the only place this could be effectively done so one could hope TT can get these picks correct and not get an O-Line version of Bustin Harrell.
Well, at first I was upset about re-signing Chad Clifton. However, now that I think about it, this draft seems packed with a lot of “true” RT’s, but very few “true” LT’s. Therefore, it was a good move. We can shoot for our RT in the 2nd Round of the upcoming draft. In the 1st Round, we can draft either OLB Sergio Kindle or Jerry Hughes, a CB, or trade down and get another 2nd Round pick. The talent level of RT’s projected at the end of the 1st is about the same as those projected in the 2nd Round. Therefore, drafting an OT in the 1st Round would be kind of pointless. Unless of course our guy falls into our lap. You just never know what will happen in the draft.
If we do draft our RT, he can be our immediate starter. We all know and can expect Clifton to get injured again a couple weeks into the season, but we have TJ Lang to back him up. I like Lang because he is versatile and is good at every position we put him in. Whether it’s LT, LG, or RT….you tell him where to play, and he’ll play. I’m still ticked that we tendered Darryn Colledge though. We need to let him go. I was hoping to put Allyn Barbre at LG and let Colledge walk.

I read in an article a couple weeks ago that Barbre first initially practed at LG . Now that was his rookie season but if they switched him to RT they either didn’t think much of him at LG or they thought a lot of him at RT. I would love to say it was the second one but seeing how he performed at RT this past season, I think I would be mad if any of our coaches really thought a lot of him at RT.

I heard that too
but he wasn’t a LG for very long, so we never truly saw what he can do for us as a LG. As for being a RT, yeah…….no potential. No signs of improvement. I’ll have a heart attack at the age of 24.
