OJ Atogwe
Maybe someone with knowledge of free agency and tenders and such could tell me, but as far I know, OJ Atogwe of the Rams is basically there for the taking. The tender he got from the Rams was "right of lowest refusal", whatever that means. He is probably one of the best players on the Rams, so I don't know if they'd just let him get away, but from what I have read in places, he'd be easy for any team to sign away.
The only thing that confuses me is, he's a great player and is there for cheap, but no one has made an offer to him yet. There obviously has to be some reason why no one has offered him yet.
That being said, I'd love to see the Packers bring him in. Thoughts?

I believe it's a good faith move by the Rams
They’re letting him test the FA waters while trying to work out a long-term contract for him. They can still match any offers.

It would be really nice to get Atogwe and even though he is not in the 3-4, as a Free Safety he could do the job of a 3-4 Strong Safety with his tackling ability and if it works out better be flip flopped with Nick Collins which would be a very solid safety tandem. If the packers make him the lottery winner and give him the one large outside of pack contract that would be very good and allow the CB to be the only focus in the secondary in the draft.
They could make a poison pill contract offer where if the rams match it they have to pay him an exorbinantly high amount. Say if he plays three or more games in St. Louis he must be the highest payed player on the team and all of the money in his contract becomes guaranteed. The Rams obviously wouldn’t want to pay him more than the first overal pick so they would elect to decline then. The Vikings did that with Hutchinson a few years ago.
Atogwe
Great player. I’m intrigued by how they tendered him. He would be a good consideration for anyone.
