Around SBN: Explaining Jeremy Lin's Early, Surprising Success

Thank you, Aaron Rodgers

I was just reading about Big Ben's latest in a slew of "bad judgement" calls in past 5 years, which got me thinking about how when he was a rookie I thought he was a mature, and levelheaded guy for his age. Than after the helmet-less motorcycle accident my opinion waned a little, than the two sexual assault charges. Even if the last one is not true, just like the first one this guy is still making bad decision after bad decision. (never should be parting at a college in the first place)

But I digress my real point is that Aaron Rodgers two years younger than Big Ben, is a man of solid character and sound judgment.  Imagine all of the Young Elite QB's out there "riding the pines" year after, year after, year behind someone who was "gonna retire this year" and they would get their shot, than to have that QB retire and than un-retire  and  almost take that starting spot away.  Most would have lashed out at the organization and the really laid into the QB to the media at every opportunity they had.

Aaron Rodgers bit his tongue and kept pluging along and now is a character Pro Bowl QB that you do not have to worry about picking up the paper and reading that he did something stupid!!  I couldn't not be happier that he is the face of the franchise.

Thank you Aaron Rodgers!!!

While you may have double tapped the r key... I AGREE WITH you 1000%!

Aaron is a class act… Now all we have to do is let him learn to to get rid of the ball a little quicker and win the big ones! : ) It’ll come…

Go Pack!!

people said the same things about tiger woods……class act, nice guy, great family man ect..

i’m not saying rodgers will be like that but one never knows. certain people handle fame better than others. their are many, many more good guys playing football than bad guys. it’s just the media concentrates so much on the bad stories that it gets over exposed. media likes the shock value of the story. i prefer the good stories like warrick dunn, brooks (x-lb from tb), witten, and brees, who help the less fortunate kids and families in their communities.but that’s not interesting enough for todays viewers..it’s pretty cinacle that society would rather watch failures than successes.

What?

You start your post:

people said the same things about tiger woods

and end it:

it’s pretty cinacle that society would rather watch failures than successes

The post is a positive piece about how well Rodgers has handled himself so far, and about his confidence in his ability to avoid the situations that Rothlisberger has found himself in. So, you start your reply talking about Tiger Woods and end it complaining about how society would rather watch failures? I find that CYNICAL and ironic.

Some people say the glass is half empty, some say half full. I say, are you going to drink that?

"Mr. Rodgers #1 Offensive Player "- Mike Ditka

He’s super intelligent, works really hard, doesn’t let emotions get the better of him. About Tiger Woods, yeah maybe but highly unlikely Aaron has some secret sex addiction, I’m not sure if he’s even married so he has no family to cheat on. Ever since Favre was released he’s been real smart dealing with the media. He’s humble unlike Phillip Rivers or Jay Cutler, or even Favre. Now that Playcalling has changed sacks are less of a problem because Mike’s using his talent on more recieivers and winning more games. With the sacks the problem was crappy Playcalliing more than Rodgers. And Aaron isn’t afraid to admit his weakness in rarely throwing the ball away. But unlike that similarity he has with Big Ben (holding too long) he doesn’t throw as many picks which is incredible. I don’t mean to slobber over him but if he was starting during the 2008 NFC Game against the Giants, I think we would’ve won the game, seriously.

Crappy play calling and a 2 horrid OTs is a recipe for disaster. Not saying he didn’t hold onto the ball too long because he did. It’s just telling that when we got Tauscher back and when Clifton was back from his early season injuries we allowed just 9 sacks in the last 9 games compared to 41 sacks in the first 9 games. Yes, Rodgers improved a bit on throwing the ball away but is that enough to have a 34 sack difference? I don’t think so.

I completely agree. Not only that, we probably win the Super Bowl that year as the Patriots were in the process of choking.

Who cares if he's a Cubs fan? This is a football forum! He is a PACKER fan as well. So, from now until March, I’m sure he’ll dedicate a lot of his time here. In late March, then we can be enemies during the baseball season. Besides, the Cubs have perhaps the most loyal baseball fanbase in the country. You have to respect that.

Go Pack!

switzerland

i’ll spead the blame around evenly.

33% on the 0-line
33% on holding ball to long
33% on play-calling

ahhhh———-1% on stopping beer sales at the end of 3rd quarter.
