Rex Ryan...not done whining about DPOY yet

Stay connected for news and updates

Just when you think a guy can't get any more pathetic, Rex Ryan shows up to prove you wrong.Check out the quote here about Revis vs. Woodson:

"I just think he's a better corner. Woodson would be a better safety and a better linebacker, but he's not a better corner than Darrelle Revis. Darrelle Revis' year might have been as good as there's ever been at the corner position. You start the list with Deion Sanders, and then it might jump to Darrelle Revis if he can continue to play the way he's playing. He's young, he can run and he can match up with any receiver in the league. I don't know if you can say the same about Woodson if he was playing corner every snap. But for what Charles does, he's absolutely phenomenal. He's an impact player. His numbers speak for themselves."

Now his argument supports what some in this board have been speculating about Woodson eventually crossing over to the safety position, which is up for debate. The part that irks me though is that he can't seem to grasp that there would be any reason for Woodson to get more votes than his boy Revis. I like Revis...I like him a LOT and he's probably going to get a few chances to win that award but how long can a coach be bitter about his guy not getting a meaningless award. He needs to let it go. As a pure shutdown corner, Revis blows away Woodson. As an impact player making game changing plays, Woodson blows away Revis. They play the same position but in different ways. Both would have been very justifiable winners for the award Rex...
