Open Thread: 2010 NFL Draft

It will be a while before the Green Bay Packers draft (unless there is a big trade in the works). How are the other teams' picks so far?

Over at TST...

Mike Holmgren of the Browns apparently offered 6-7 of their 10 picks this year along with a couple next year. The Rams turned down the trade over. How the heck can the Rams turn down a trade offer like that when their team is so bad?

Not sure

I’m not sure how the Browns could give all that up. Their needs certainly aren’t limited either.

So do you think the Lions go Suh followed by the Bucs taking McCoy? I read on Nation football post today that the Redskins are seriously considering taking Berry at #4. That could help our chances of getting one of the big time LT’s at #23.

by packallday555 on Apr 22, 2010 6:41 PM CDT reply actions

imagine Dez at 4 :o

They want power. We want respect...

Yeah

2. Suh
3. McCoy
4. OT Trent Williams with Eric Berry being in consideration.
5. Berry

I’m jealous. I think Suh is going to be the best DT in this league in a couple of years.

Suh and Raji will be the great DTs for years to come.

Haha yes, Raji too. I can’t lie, I forget about Raji at times. I’m really excited to see what he can do healthy though. He came on strong at the end of the year last season.

Detroit still has a hole at LE and the secondary

their D is far from legit.

"No player is greater than a team."
-Vince Lombardi

by Jabooty on Apr 22, 2010 6:47 PM CDT reply actions

Eh, Avril is more then capable. He’s actually provided a decent pass rush for them. The DL could help make their secondary look much, much better. They could get a good Cb prospect at 34 too.

by packallday555 on Apr 22, 2010 6:48 PM CDT up reply actions

he's a good speed rusher

both him and KVB will provide a good pass rush, but I think that also hurts their run D as well. They are both speed rushers.

It'll be good to get the REAL draft started at 4

Looks like these picks are going quick and easy just as predicted weeks ago. Let’s see what the Skins do in the end.

by PackApologist on Apr 22, 2010 6:50 PM CDT reply actions

I'm still tied up in the thought of OLB or OT

it’s all about who’s left, but it’s hard to stand on one position alone when you don’t know how the draft will turn out

"No player is greater than a team."

by Jabooty on Apr 22, 2010 6:51 PM CDT reply actions

Well the Skins will dictate that

Will they start a run on tackles? Or will something come out of nowhere?

by PackApologist on Apr 22, 2010 6:53 PM CDT up reply actions

I hope

some teams need QB’s so we can get OL and OLB’s

by GBfan73 on Apr 22, 2010 6:52 PM CDT reply actions

I know right! The Bills or 49ers taking a QB could help our prospects of getting a OT. I think the OLB’s will be there for us though.

i prefer Jerry Hughes over Sergio Kindle though

Hughes is the better pass rusher, so could be a pass rushing specialist while Brad Jones handles running downs.

Our Dime Formation could feature: OLB Clay Matthews, RE Cullen Jenkins, LE BJ Raji, OLB Jerry Hughes…having 2 ILB’s and an extra guy in the Secondary.

I thought he might be the reason they moved up, but I didn’t have the balls to make the prediction. They can’t go with Sproles exclusively in 2010. He looks like he might be like Ryan Grant. He’s a good RB in a weak RB class (lots of guys with injury problems).

I'll get you the reaction from Stampede Blue.

I didn't believe it last August, but it turns out that love survives.

Yeah but what did Minn get?

I haven’t seen details, but I think it was a 2 and swapping their 4’s.

Yeah…only option really. Maybe one of our OLBs go here.

Let's just say I think the suspense may be too much for some of the guys at Stampede Blue.

Heck, they nearly ran me off the blog when we took Bulaga.

I didn't believe it last August, but it turns out that love survives.

The guys at Stampede Blue seem to like this.

But I wish we could have gotten Hughes.

Canal Street Chronicles just exploded.

They do not like Patrick Robinson on N.O.

Seriously…but did they want claussen…he seems like a prick.

by TrevorR on Apr 22, 2010 10:08 PM CDT up reply actions

That would be because he is a prick

But he has potential to be pretty good. At least as much as Bradford.

by Charlie Kelly on Apr 22, 2010 10:09 PM CDT up reply actions

I was thinking the same thing

I told them plenty of times their QB would be in the 2nd Round, thinking about someone like Tony Pike. Well, better yet…Jimmy Clausen. Spagnuolo may be on the hot seat after this season.
