Sam Shields the newest Green Bay Packer

Check out CB/KR Sam Shields, College Miami. He is suppose to sign with the Packers.  After playing receiver for three seasons, Shields was moved to cornerback last season but made his biggest contributions on special teams. He opened the Champs Sports Bowl in December against Wisconsin by returning the kickoff 84 yards, the longest kickoff return in UM bowl history.  He's a special teams all star. He got arrested for possession of marijuana which kept him out of draft.  He is a great special teamer.  Another potential character problem but he's a very exposive player and our special teams need some help.  It also would make us deeper at CB.  Check out the YouTube video and tell me what you think?

Amazing speed

That KR makes it look like the UW guys are running in slow motion.

Would be nice.

Can you imagine? If a guy like this worked out, or to have any return specialist. Can you imagine Rogers having an average starting field position at like the 35 or 40 yard line? I can only dream of having that. Points would be on the board in a hurry. Nice clip sproo44. to bad it was against my Badgers though ! LOL

Why was this guy not drafted?

The season of Oz is upon us, be afraid.

He failed a drug test.

I hope he makes the team he can improve our speical teams alot. I wonder if we would consider moving him back to reciever instead of having him stick to corner?

I saw a couple plays when he was at reciever and they ran a WR screen and he just took off road runner style!

It's confirmed.

Sam Shields does indeed come with a neck.

oh dear...

Its official, it made his wiki:
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Adam_Jones_%28American_football%29

Jones worked out for NFL scouts on March 19th in New Orleans, Louisiana 30 6 NFL teams were in attendance. Initial reports claimed Jones did not show up, but newer reports countered those claims. At his workout, his 40 yard dash time was 4.42 seconds.31 The Detroit Lions and San Francisco 49ers have both met with Jones. On April 27, 2010 the Green Bay Packers contacted Jones about a possible tryout.

I wouldnt mind if we signed pacman. If he can behave. Because he is a really good return man and if we have him and sheilds that would be great. Also the more corners we get shields pacman the less chance there is of jarret bush steping on the field and thats what we need. I mean pacman was never a shut down corner but he is good. So i hope we get him and see what happens

Pacman > Jarrett Bush

I like Bush in Special Teams, but that’s just it….Special Teams. I think with the addition of Pacman Jones and Sam Shields, our Special Teams coverage should be a lot better. Bush is already a good Special Teams contributor. Pacman and Shields would provide more speed, which is always an added bonus.

If our CB position is depleted again though, I’d much rather have Pacman on the field as opposed to Bush.

It doesn’t take much to be better than Bush. I might be able to do what he does at age 32!!

TrevorR MM is accepting walk ons!

The team needs you or do you need to have ankle surgery before you make your decision…LOL

LOL!
Yeah I might need to clean up some bone spurs…those 2 a days sound brutal! He can give me minimum wage for the NFL and I’ll gladly let opposing WRs score on me all day just like Bush did! :-)
