Former Bear Alex Brown Signs With The Saints
When the Bears released DE Alex Brown earlier this month, we discussed whether he would make a good OLB in Green Bay. As far as I can tell, the Packers haven't shown interest in any free agents (other than to re-sign their own), so I'm not surprised he never visited them.
It didn't take long for him to find a new job with the Saints, who signed him for 2 years, and $6 million. Over at Canal Street Chronicles they are lovin' the news. He fills a major need for them at defensive end, but he's undersized and won't help what was regarded by Football Outsiders as a pretty bad run defense (No. 29 overall). Still that's a good price for a pass rushing DE, and even if the Packers had shown interest in him, he'd probably choose a starting job with the defending champs over a battle for playing time at a new position.

TT would never spend that kind of money
He’ll search the dumpster looking for bargains among players who still aren’t signed when training camp begins.
