Buffalo's Jarius Byrd was second in the voting, but the AP may lean more toward Clay Matthews based on the way that Buffalo and Green Bay finished the year record-wise. Brian Orakpo of the Redskins is also a possibility, as he had 11 sacks (to Matthews' 10)
In light of AP's Rookie of the Year Brian Cushing's suspension for steroid use (which occurred during the season) the AP plans to revote for the defensive rookie of the year.
What do you think? Should the ROY go to Byrd because he finished second (Miss America rules....) or should there be a revote, now with bias based on the playoffs (the voting occurred before the playoffs)?
