NFL Notes: Sharper on Favre, Carroll on White, and Graessle Gets Another Chance
- Is Darren Sharper in trouble after his Tweets about marking an X on Brett Favre's surgically repaired ankle and openly placing a prop bet? Players might say stuff like that to one another, but it probably shouldn't come out in public.
- Well that was a short reunion with Pete Carroll and RB LenDale White in Seattle. They've released him after it was announced he would serve a 4 game suspension. There were also some questions about his commitment despite the fact that he's laying off the tequila.
- The Green Bay Packers have signed a number of bad punters over the last couple of seasons, but one we never got to see was P Adam Graessle who is getting a chance with the Steelers this year.

but the top where we talked about this is gone now I think…
check out this video about the engine that runs that new Backbreaker football game. Man I wish the NFL would allow them to have naming rights, I’d like to see the potential in this game. Maybe Madden will buy them out or something!

Sharper's toast...and Graessle can't be worse than...
…Mitch Berger, who punted while our Robopunter, Daniel Sepulveda, was hurt. Man, was he pathetic. And he looked like the Scarecrow from Wizard of Oz.
Turning to Sharper, when will these idiots consider that Twitter is waaaaayyyy worse than e-mail. With e-mail, you’ve got to have a traitor in the people you send whatever bad thing you’re saying to. With Twitter, your owner, your coach, your league can all subscribe to your feed.
But then again, what sanctions were there back when Jimmie Johnson’s Cowboys were putting bouties on Eagle kickers ;-)

Twitter and Facebook are dangerous
The concept of privacy seems to be gone, but in a voluntary way, which is just plain stupid. Twitter is dangerous for athletes and non-athletes alike. I strongly discourage my employees from subscribing. Facebook is also dangerous for similar reasons.
We use twitter for business purposes but I won’t have anything to do with it for personal…seems like an invitation for trouble and once its out there, its OUT there. Twitter indexes EVERYTHING.
At least with FB you can limit who you let in but its still dangerous! I had one of those judge shows on the other day and judge (whomever) commented that she looked at the plaintiffs fb page! haha BUSTED.
Yea, friends of mine have lost job offers due to things on facebook
But they were dumb enough to have public profiles where they were holding beers in about half of their pictures.

Can you get fired for drinking? Seems like that would be a prick move considering how much most of the execs I know drink!
Ah, the generation gap
Potential employers have many candidates seeking employment. Resumes and interviews go only so far, and to be honest with you, after a while they all start to become indistinguishable. Generally, Bad things stand out more t6han good things. If I have Facebook pages from candidates who are (i) smoking bongs, or (ii) posing with their families, I tend to shy away from the bongs. The reason is purely economic: If this guy is sufficiently immature that he thinks it is “cool” display this portion of himself publicly, then I would be concerned that he is self-absorbed and not a team player; worse, he could have drug problems. None of this is good for the bottom line. Thaqt’s not being a “prick,” that’s just good business.
Yea, once you get to know your boss really well, it might be ok
But it’s never really a great first impression to make your potential boss think you spend almost all your time drinking.

Speaking of which....
How do you delete pic’s you were tagged in? I was tagged in a few including one’s I was drunk in and I’d like to delete them. If they were in an album it’d be easy. How do you delete one’s in a tag? Oh how this went from football to Facebook. Gotta love it!
P.S- it’s stupid for employers to judge people by having pic’s with beer in it. Most people drink…..at least in Wisconsin.

Rail against the system if you like
But if you want a job, then I recommend that you learn to play in the system. If you can’t, you will lose your hair, move to Iowa and become a political wannabe.
