Packers and NFC North: Slow News Cycle

- The Green Bay Packers news cycle is so slow right now that Greg Bedard is off Twitter for a week, and even Mike Florio is in the Middle of Nowhere.

- As if the Vikings didn't have enough quarterback rumors. From Daily Norseman comes the (literally) big rumor that they're a "strong suitor" for QB JaMarcus Russell. Does anyone really believe he can turn himself into a decent NFL QB?

- Bengals RB Cedric Benson is looking for a new contract, but he didn't do himself any favors by getting charged with an assault that allegedly happened back in May. It's been just over 2 years since he ran himself out of Chicago on his party boat.

- It's good that Lions team president Tom Lewand has been "in treatment for alcohol abuse for several months" but the video of his arrest on suspicion of drunk driving is an embarrassment. What should the team do with that guy? Sean at Pride of Detroit thinks they should give him a second chance.

People made a big deal last season because, admittedly, Benson had a great game against us, but it’s exactly things like that keeping me from ever feeling bad about jettisoning him.

It's true

Look at the lynching that Underwood got this past offseason…and we still don’t know if he’s going to be charged with anything. Jolly is another close to home example of the fanbase turning against a guy who puts himself in a bad situation.

Not only that, but

I keep seeing stories about not knowing if Underwood will be charged, as if that’s news!

And, it’s begun to look as if Jolly may have done a little more than just “put himself in a bad situation.”
Not saying he’s guilty; just that if he is, then it might be worse than we originally thought.

I HOPE that viqueens do get Russell… Just another QB to waste their time trying to develop!!! That will NEVER happen for Russell. THe ONLY talent he has is a big arm, but he does have a 10 cent head to go with it!!! He will never be professional enough for an NFL QB and his accuracy is for crap!!! The vikes should definitely sign him and work w/ him.. I mean how many QB’s has Bevell ever developed? That would be NONE!!!! He never made #4 better, in fact an argument could be made that #4 was WORSE for working with him! Except w/ the viqueens and then Bevell was the OC not the QB coach.
