Blackmon on Playing Safety, Roster Retention, and Charles Woodson at Practice

Before I turn this blog back over to Brandon Underwood rumors, I read a few other notes of interest regarding the Green Bay Packers:

 - CB Will Blackmon says that the move to safety is great and he's become "a student of the game." I believe him but it might be his best chance to stick with the team too.

 - According to Mike Sando at ESPN, the Packers have retained 87% of their 2009 final roster, which is the 4th highest rate in the NFL.

 - There was a mini-story brewing concerning CB Charles Woodson's whereabouts. Jason Wilde saw him at the mall and Woodson said he's been at "OTAs all week. Just not practicing."

in regards

to woodson practicing. no big deal, he usually doesn’t practice that much during the week anyway as the season gets rolling. he gets many days off, but as he’s shown, practice is over rated when your on top of your game.

injured

Its ONLY when Woodson is injured that he takes days off during the week! It allows for the injuries to heal and calm down, after being aggrivated on game days. When he’s not injured he practices everyday… Clifton is the one who takes ALOT more days off, but thats to help his knees, so same reason! Both of them are true professionals and take preparation seriously, even if they aren’t practicing.

Come on

Woodson can be fishing for all I care. Whatever he is doing, he is doing well. We only have a couple more years of him.
