Green Bay Packers @ Chicago Bears | The Rivalry Is ON!

Hey, guys -- My name is Chris Harris and I just thought I'd share a little perspective from the other side of the field. Good luck to you, this Monday!

MAN!  Is it Monday yet!?!?

Monday Night Football, baby!  The stage is set -- The lights will be bright -- This game against our rival, the Green Bay Packers, is definitely a big game for all of us.  They’re coming into town with a 2-0 record and we have a 2-0 record.  The game plan is for the Bears to walk outta Soldier Field with the big THREE and OH.

Star-divide

You know, those Packers are a very, very good football team and proof of that lies within their performances during the first two games of the season.  We gotta make their offense simmer down a bit by shutting down their running game to make them a one-dimensional team.  Our front-four is going to be getting all over their quarterback, while the rest of us plan to simply out hit them with that physical brand of football we’ve been playing for the past couple weeks.

Personally, I believe Green Bay have some greatly skilled players.  Greg Jennings is one of the top receivers in the league.  Donald Driver is out there killin’ it, just like he always has.  And then, of course, you have Aaron Rodgers who’s a very, very good quarterback.  So, you know, we’re gonna have our hands full with that bunch. But don’t you worry -- We’re definitely up for the challenge -- We’re ready to step up to the plate.

Offensively, we want to score, score, score and score some more, at all costs, because the winner of this game is going to lock down our division’s top spot, which would be HUGE for us.  I don’t know about you, but I’m thinking "3-0" sounds really good and has a very nice ring to it.  So getting that dub is what we’re going to be pushing for.

What the Bears have to do to win
Our front-four is going to be getting all over their quarterback

While respectively disagree, I expect the Packers blockers will hold up against the Bears pass rush, they can make a game of it if their front-four is all over Rodgers. Some of the surprising upsets of last season (Bengals and Bucs) happened when Rodgers was not protected.

And it’s just as important that the Bears offensive line protect Jay Cutler too.

Yawn

It’s just the Bears…….they are not that good. This games is no bigger than any other game.
The Bears fans hate the Packers, Packers fans hate the Vikings, Vikings fans hate the Packers.

" This game against our rival" is only true if you are a Bears fan.

March in 2-0 March out 3-0 no biggie.

I agree

I can’t get fired up for this rivalry lately, not so much because I think the Bears aren’t good as I just can’t work up a good hatred of them. Even Jay Cutler doesn’t stir me up, I still enjoyed the way he crammed it to the Broncos and Josh McDaniels. Now the ’85 Bears, there was a team worth hating, a bunch of loud-mouthed, redneck, major a$$wipes. Unfortunately, the Packers only had dipwad Forrest Gregg and his Felon-of-the-Week Club to compete in those days.

Anyway, the Viqueens are the hated rivals at this point and I’d be willing to give the Bears a win here and there if they’d promise to beat the crap out of Bert Farve.

YES! You need to focus ALL your effort on our running game

…if you shut that down, our team does nothing. Just look at our first two games and its clear we cannot win without our running game! IN fact, as long as you shut that down, I wouldn’t even worry about those guys who catch the balls cause they won’t matter.

The Bears game has become more of a respectful rivalry to me.

Kind of like the Huskers and Sooners.

My grandma is a Bears fan and they have been kind of bad lately, so I can’t really hate them. But I still enjoy these games a bit more than most regular season games.

The rivary with the Vikings is like what Nebraska has with Texas. Pure hate.
