I have seen the enemy and it is me
Really?? 17 Penalties and 152 YARDS!?!?
What is going on at in Green Bay 379 yards of offense and a grand total of (wait for it)............17 points. There had BETTER be some serious a$$ kicking and soul searching this week. Two INTS called back for pass interfence, a blocked Field goal, veteran O linemen jumping offsides mutable times!!
Lets start Bryan Bulaga next week perhaps he can remember the snap count!!!
Even Rodgers got into the act getting called for intentional grounding.
BTW Who is still kicking to Hester?? My three year old knows not to kick to Hester.
What a coaching nightmare that game was..........rant over!!

On the false starts...
remember two of them came when they were inside the 1, crowd was going crazy and the guys were facing a freak in Julius Peppers. I’ve seen PLENTY of offensive lines twitch and false start under those circumstances.
Just like last years “disaster” in Tampa ( I don’t know that losing at Chicago by a last second field goal against an unbeaten necessarily a disaster), I think we will learn from this and grow. We showed it last year, and we have too much talent to just wilt this year.
I’m still stoked about this year.

Devin Hester hasn't done anything in 2 years
i don’t really care if he gets kicked to anymore. he is not the same player as his first few years/ every elite return man has 2-3 great years and fizzle off. remember desmond howards? or the guy from KC a few years back ( for the life of me i cannot remember his name.
this too

The punt at the end of the half ...
You can’t even make that punt to Jordy Nelson – a short live drive. The only the Bears were going to move the ball on us is if we set them up with field position. That was a MAJOR mistake.
While I agree
it was a poor punt by all accounts. Masthay at least had the td preventing tackle to let the defense get on the field, and he was also booming 50+ yarders most of the night (including the one that was returned) so I’m not gonna place blame on him

Sorry But I'm with tthe poster
No, I don’t think the wheels are falling offf. I don’t think anyone should be fired. I hope that this is the same as last years “Tampa” game. But I’m sorry, these guys (all of them, players and coaches) get paid very well, (by you and me in the end) to go out there and play this crappy! I give the Bears credit, dosen’t matter to me if they won, we gave it to them, whatever. If the Bears had just came out and handed our asses to us then I would have said “Good Game”, but they still beat us by taken advantage of every stupid mistake we mad, they got the W. But I stickm with the message of the original post, we played like crap tonight, and I’m sick of players playing half ass and stupidly, after all it’s the only thing they do, at least you could do it right.
why would you kick to Hester again
after his 1st long return cost us 7? Coaches fault. And, why not let them score and save some time for AR? Coaches fault. 17 penalties. Coaches fault. I’m just sayin’
Yeah that HAS to go on the coaches. How many times does he have to house it on us before we learn to stop kicking it to him.
he housed it twice in two years, both in this game
thats not on anyone

so what? we all know what he’s capable. Most teams still aren’t giving it to him in the middle of the field and inviting it. You heard Gruden say he wouldn’t kick it to him.
I thought he was no longer capable
Its like having Larry Johnson suddenly running for 200 yards for you. Maybe you dont kick it to him the second time, but I thougth the coverage was pretty bad. Its on slocums coverage teaching if its on anyone

Maybe the coaches did tell him to punt away from Hester
He’s not known for being a very accurate kicker. Maybe not very likely, but a possibility.

+1
Kicking the ball too him was SO stupid. Because even if the punt is good (which it was) and your coverage is good (it was decent), Hester still will make you pay. You just never should punt to him. Ever. The penalties have to go on McCarthy. I know it’s the players committing them but he has to have some discipline over the guys. It’s been a problem for three years now, which isn’t ok.

no it wasnt
hester sucked for two years, you kick it to him and laugh as he runs laterally
Thome Walks-Off Sox, Twists Knife, Continues To Make Sox Brass Look REALLY Stupid - White Sox Season Recap
I think your perspective of sucked is really skewed by Hester’s greatness…Hester “sucking” is still much better than the average returner.
Chicago's special teams play is much better than average
how much of that has to do with schemes and coaching?
Towlieppan: "You wanna throw high?"
I’d say a lot. I kind of doubt that one teams back-up players are much better or worse then another teams back-up players.
by packallday555 on Sep 30, 2010 10:06 AM CDT up reply actions
A lot of it is just that…which is why our ST continues to be abysmal year after year despite having new players.
I guess I didn't state my point very well
When Hester was sucking, I would say he was a league average returner at best. I think a lot of his “greatness” has more to do with exceptional ST blocking than a lot of people would say.
Towlieppan: "You wanna throw high?"
So what? After his switch to receiver, he didn’t even always return punts for Chicago. I’d argue that’s the reason for him “sucking” for two years, though I hardly think he actually sucked.
The bottom line is, he hasn’t lost any of that exceptional speed or quickness. If you see him back there, and you know that your punter already messed up one punt to him (that he was a broken tackle away from returning for a TD) and you know your coverage rarely stays in their lanes well, you should NOT punt it to him.

Sure did. Clifton wasn’t much better. It’d be nice to see what Buluga and Lang can do.

Do not...
Repeat, DO NOT put Lang on Allen ever, and I MEAN, EVER again.
Maybe Koa Misi and Jared Odrick would be Patriots if Bill Parcells wasn't Comedic.Sans's father...

Well no, we’d put Buluga at left tackle and Lang at right tackle.

I think some of you are a bit dramatic
listen we did blow that game too many penalties and stupid plays. But thats how the Bear Packer games go. They are full of emotion and not much thinking. We still have a very talented team and now just have a chip on the shoulder and have to prove it. The team needs to realize that other teams will not roll over for them and with that they have to stop beating themselves and finish games. I would agree that there were A LOT of mistakes by every one the players, the coaches, and yes the shit show of ESPN (SHOW SOME DAMN REPLAYS!!) But like someone said above we lost a game that we should have won last year (Tampa) and then turned it right around and beat a red hot Dallas team. I think the same will happen this year.
thank you
