What's going on with a few ex-Packers?
I know this isn't big news or anything, but just to change the subject from our penalty infested game on Monday. I decided to take a look at what's going on with some ex-Packers.
Last year, it seemed Buffalo was snooping around our Practice Field and grabbing our practice squad guys. They ended up signing OT Jamon Meredith and QB Brian Brohm.
This year, you'll have to look on the West Coast to find that same team. The Seattle Seahawks have signed OT Breno Giacomini, OG/OT Allen Barbre, and C Evan Dietrich-Smith. The fans seem to be pretty psyched about the potential of Giacomini and Barbre. I already took the liberty in warning them to NEVER give Barbre a chance at OT.....AGAIN!

I just noticed this too...
a little bummed to see our practice squad again being raided. I don’t know what we are going to fill it with so this sucks as we don’t have any immediate backups we can pull up for our Oline if something happens.
Extremely upset
that we let Giacomini get away. I liked him and with all the praise he was getting in the offseason, I figured he was bound to make his way onto the game-day roster.
I hear yah, but he probably would’ve been another Barbre. Lots of stories about how he’s figuring it out and the coaches like his athleticism and so forth, but then he just never gets it together.
That was the vibe I was starting to get from him. It’s probably for the best both for him and for us. (…although Meridith hasn’t done much from what I understand, so maybe he needs a bigger new beginning. …like going into real estate or something.)

Maybe Campen really isn’t getting it done as an offensive line coach. The Seahawks picking him up obviously shows an interest in him, and the Vikings tried hard earlier to sign him away from us. There’s obviously potential there. Now whether or not it just ends up being potential or turning into something special (becoming a quality starter) who really knows. But it is kind of disappointing that Campen can never seem to develop these guys we have that supposedly have great athleticism and tools.

seattle ecstatic?
As a Packer fan in Seattle the media in Seattle has made quite a bit over the years of former Packer guys raiding their former team. Holmgren and now Schneider have made much of their connections with GB, but remember these are back of the roster guys. Any of these guys will be lucky to get playing time for any team, and if they do it means their team has suffered injuries, and is probably not doing well. The best we should hope for is continuing good health.
Teams that do well invariably do not have many significant injuries. As much as I can not stand that guy, recall that Brian Urlacher went out last year in the first game of the season against the Pack, and over a year later comes back with a great play at the end of Monday’s game.
That's the system he does best in.
The 3-4 was a poor fit for his skills (namely, rushing the passer; Kampman cannot be dropped back into coverage).
Maybe Koa Misi and Jared Odrick would be Patriots if Bill Parcells wasn't Comedic.Sans's father...

Real news
Pete Carroll sucks. No Wyomings, Washington States, or other cupcakes to fill out your schedule anymore, huh Pete?
He was hoping
he could steal two from the Rams until Sunday…
I'm just glad Scott Tolzien didn't go all Drew Tate on Nick Toon and whack him upside the head...
