TJ Whosyourmama???
it is expected that Seattle will let Housh go. but his contract stats that what ever his new contract doesnt cover Seattle will still have to cover the remainder of what he would be owed. That means this year he will sign for the Veterans League Min of 875,000 ( i think) for one year. i don't know about you all. but having him as the third reciever behind Jennings and Driver just sounds AWESOME and then keep Nelson and Jones as the 4th and 5th receivers i cant see any team coming close to that. now dont get me wrong if he wouldn't get any thing from seattle id say let him walk, but what do you feel about Green Bay bringing in Housh at league min?

It seems to me that the Packers are in great shape at receiver
including having some big TE talent/depth that can also move to slot or wide outs.
I think the Packers can upgrade or add depth in other areas. Receiver is not an area that needs tweaking.

If Seattle is willing to let him go
I’m willing to bet Nelson and Jones maybe better than he is at this point in his career.
Best argument for it is that going after him keeps him out of Minnesota.

I hope not
I don’t want the guy either. Alot of us don’t want Doushbag either, but sadly, a few do. I wasn’t impressed with the guy last year, not impressed this year. Both our teams are better off without him and who we have at present.

no, he will deal with a team and get min this year, but more guaranteed future money
and wouldn’t be interested at 1 year min anyway.
If he was still in Cincy do you think he would have changed his name to that?

pass on him
Nelson and Jones are already under-utilized. They’re already better than him, and they’ll keep getting better with more experience, which Housh would take away from them.
Housh is a possession receiver, and we’ve already got TEs for that.
So, thanks anyway.
huh?
No…not interested here. I want to keep him out of Minny…that is the only reason I’d even consider it but honestly I don’t see how he really makes things that much better. Jones has shown he’s ready to seize that spot. I don’t know that Housh would really want to sign on to be a #3 anyway. On top of that, I was NOT at all impressed with Housh last year and this year he was beat out for a roster spot by Mike Williams (the one that failed out of the Lions) and Golden Tate? Yeah I think he’s pretty much done at this point.
Kinda surprised that it was the Ravens who signed him. For years they have suffered by not having a true number 1, then they signed Boldin and I thought that would be the end of it. Now with Boldin AND Housh, The Ravens have a top 10 best WR duo in the league. Maybe top 5 if Housh can return to his Bengals form.

Won't pan out
I’ve known John Schneider for quite awhile Seattle GM he’s no dummy. My understanding is they still had to pay 6 or 7 million even though they released him. I have a feeling he hit the year where there was a major droppoff in production. If he was still so productive I think he probably would have recieved more than the NFL minimum salary with Baltimore. They think this is their year, when Stallworth went down it put a crimp in their plans, their hoping but I’m not seeing it.
Housh
Will be a younger and for now Cheaper version of Derrick Mason! No downside in that… He won’t provide the deep threat that Sallworth might have. If Stallworth is out for awhile, thats a problem. They then have 3 WR who are all best as possession recievers! With noone to stretch the field defenses will be playing everything under 20 yds. Mason, Housh and Boldin aren’t going to open the field at all…
Wow!
Joe Flacco has plenty of toys to play with now! A good OL, a good running game, Boldin and TJ to throw to. That offense is quickly going from mediocre to potent if Flacco can put it together and build some chemistry with these guys. I’m just glad MN didn’t get him!!!!!

I am totally with you! THRILLED that Minny didn’t get him. It gives Flacco another solid weapon, but I dont think they make some crazy good 1-2 combo. I think Housh is on the downside of his career. He’s starting the season as their #3 too…
That's true
Boldin, Mason, and Housh are all solid WR’s, but are Possession receivers. Given their ability to make good catches with their good size, they should be able to move the chains. However, I don’t see this offense capable of too many big plays given they don’t have a WR to stretch the field. Housh is on the downside, but he’s still solid. I think Seattle really just misused him though last year. Their OC wasn’t that good!

Won't matter.
I don’t think they care about scoring with their receivers. All they need to do is get to the end zone and let their road graders pave out a path for Rice. This is going to be a tough team. Only thing I see stopping them is if they start getting confused and try and be a passing team with a good running attack instead of a running team with a good passing attack. Also, I thikn Flacco will fold in the play offs.
It's a lot easier to love the Vikings when they win...
Certainly does matter.
It makes it harder to throw the ball when there is no downfield threat! THe defense will crowd the area w/in 20 yds of the LOS. The safeties creep closer cuz they don’t have to respect the deep ball. More defenders in the areas where the WR are trying to get open! Not having a legitimate deep threat allows the D to cover a smaller area. I would say that is a major problem!
You never know when a player will pull a 1,000+ receiving yard season
out of their hats, though.
Look at that Javon Walker guy. I mean, he hasn’t really been successful since 2004…

Well, he hasn't been the same since.
How much of that is due to having his best friend bleed out in his arms, I will never know.
Driver, on the other hand is a doggedly consistent WR. He hauls in 1,000 yard seasons like few other receivers, even if he leaves a game to injury.
Driver and Tauscher might have been the greatest draft pickups in Packer history.

Of today, I meant.
The fact that the draft went 17 rounds is ridiculous in retrospect but brilliant at the time.
