The APC Fantasy Football Draft On The Eve Of The Season

Cbssports

I'm nuts, but as a favor to a manager I changed the draft night for one of the two Acme Packing Company fantasy football leagues. By making that change it now means I'm running both drafts at almost the same time tomorrow night. Maybe I should just draft the same players for both teams just to keep it clear.

And based on my best guess, I'm not going to avoid RB Maurice Jones-Drew since there doesn't appear to be any concern about his knee. While the average draft position has QB Aaron Rodgers at No. 7, I'd take him ahead of RB Frank Gore and WR Andre Johnson. Where has Rodgers been going in your fantasy drafts?

Rodgers

was one of 5 QB’s drafted in the first round of my other fantasy league… He was the 1st QB taken at #3 overall… Way too early, IMO. Love Rodgers, but I wouldn’t take him in the top half of the first rd. Anywhere after 8th overall seems to start making sense to me! BTW, I had the 1st pick overall and surprised noone by taking Chris Johnson!

Looking forward to the draft tomorrow!

Rodgers went fourth in our league.

With the scoring system we use, he was the highest scoring player in our league last year, regardless of position, so that wasn’t too high.

Too bad I picked ninth, lol.
Had to settle for Rivers.

Rodgers was the #1 QB in my leagues

Pick #9 and Pick #7. I snatched Finley in both of my leagues to the dismay of a lot of people :)

I don't do QBs in the first round.

it doesn’t matter how much the score favors them, its about scoring dropoff with other players. I’ve been trying to leave every draft with either Finley or Jennings…its going to be a great year for those guys.

agree

Anyone know if its a Point per Reception league? Didn’t look like it was… THat changes draft strategy quite a bit!

Aaron was number 2 overall in my other league

The guy said he would have taken him first overall if it was his pick. I’m pumped for tonight! I’m looking to repeat as an APC fantasy league champion!

I'm in a 2 QB league and a keeper league...

I took Rodgers with the last pick of the first round (8th overall) in the 2 QB league (Brees was taken 6th overall).
Rodgers was kept in my keeper league, causing his owner to forfeit his 3rd round pick. Great value there.

Lovin my team

How in the world do you end up with MJD and Turner on the same team!?!? Should be a nice season!

by TrevorR on Sep 8, 2010 11:07 PM CDT reply actions

I saw that too.

Turner was falling a little and I started to hope he would come down to me. Not quite that far down. I like my team alot too. I was planning on taking Michael Crabtree instead of Hicks, Celek over Shiancoe, then wasn’t going to take a 2nd TE right away. Somehow the autopilot on my draft did those for me.

I did get one really good FA right after the draft. Since we are allowed a Injured reserve player, I picked up Sidney Rice and put him on my IR… Quite the stroke of genius if I do say so myself!!! LOL

haha yeah that is a nice move actually. (the Rice move) Now I have TWO reasons to hope he doesn’t make it back this season! :-)

I only had one pick go on autopilot and it grabbed a D for me which was fine I guess.
