NFC Championship, here we come. Yet, one piece of the puzzle is left missing: Bears or Seahaks.
Last time we played the Seahawks in the playoff was the 2007 season, routing them 42-20 at home. Since then, we have all had our ups and downs. Seahawks have been playing the spoiler role, first by taking out the Saints and now the chance for the Bears. Its a team that we can't look past or they might take us down. Last year, we routed them 48-10. If we get them, hopefully the rout streak continues against them.
Bears
In the first ever meeting in 1921, Chicago's John Taylor sucker punched Howard Buck and broke his nose. Since then, these two have been at war. They have only once battled each other in the playoffs, in 1941, and since then the rivalry has been kept to the regular season. If the Bears win, it will mark the first time in the Super Bowl era that the Bears met the Packers in the NFC Championship. More than trip to Dallas would be on the line.
If given the choice, of course I would want the Seahawks. I feel that we match up better against them and would exploit them. Yet, the Packer loving, Bear hating fan inside me wants the Bears. So when it comes down to it, I want the Bears. It would be a 60 minute throw down and give the NFC that rivarly game that the AFC seems to have (Jets/Patriots) or always have (Steelers/Ravens) in the playoffs.
So question is: who do you want?
