Saturday Wild Card Open Thread
Saints at Seahawks. I thought the Seahawks have no chance at coming away with a win, but Football Outsiders pegs their chances at 25%. Any NFL team can beat another NFL team on any given Sunday (Saturday). However the oddsmakers have the Saints as 10 to 11 point favorites, which is the biggest road favorite in 30 years. It's been a brutal week for the Saints on the injury front, and I don't see how they can get back to the Super Bowl without RB Pierre Thomas who's out for the season. Check out Canal Street Chronicles and Field Gulls for more on this game.
Jets at Colts. Just as the Saints are way better than the Seahawks according to Football Outsiders's DVOA ratings (however nearly ever team is better than the Seahawks), the Jets are ranked as the No. 6 team and the Colts are at No. 15. I wouldn't mind if both teams lost, but obviously that's not possible. Check out Gang Green Nation and Stampede Blue for more on this game.

I keep thinking (mistakenly)
that if the Seahags win, they’ll play Atlanta..not the case!
I love wins. Wins are good for the soul.- Barry Alvarez Sep 25, 2005
wow they went for two...17-15...
can’t make sense of that one…most be playing the point spread lol
i dont know if i have more respect for seahawks
or less for saints
I hope...
it doesn’t mean that home teams will have the extra boost from playing at home…given that we playthe Eagles at their place
Actually , they went for the extra point
they were replaying an earlier TD (missed most of the game so far)
wow almost a penalty there
Seahawks lucked on that punter hit
yeah, but
adrenaline can only take you so far….Saints should pull away in the end
good job seahawks...
all knotted about at 17…didn’t think you had it in you
Image if Seattle wins this...
that means if we would have won the division, we would have hosted Seattle in the division round…just like in 2007! Dang it!
This time Chicago gets ’em…lucky
Smart by Seattle...
most teams would sneak in a play before the 2 min warning…but they should milk this down to under 30 seconds…Don’t give Brees any chance to score…
amazing...
17 unanswered points…Seattle leads…
wow..
Looks like the Bears luck just might continue

What does everyone think?
Does it bother you that a 7-9 team made it into the playoffs? If Seattle wins today does it validate them making the playoffs?
won the division..
If you don’t take the division winner, why have divisions?
I do agree though that they shouldn’t host a game and maybe the seedings should go by record..then the Pack would be maybe a #3,,:)

How happy is the NFL that this game is competitive.
Instead of the blowout most were predicting.

The Packers at Seattle in the NFC Championship game.
Seahawks remind me of the 2008 Arizona Cardinals...
those cardinals also won the NFC West …but they were 9-7…but they lost 4 of the last 5, looked horrible and they showed up and made it to the superbowl!
but here come the Saints~!
the difference is
their Bush plays on offense….
With his drops
I expect to see him lead the team int “passes defensed” category
In the WC or the regular season?
That defense was allegedly pretty good statistically, despite giving up a ****load of points to Unfounded Revenge. Twice.

4th down!!!
seahawks get the ball back! Winning 31 -20!
wow approaching 5 minutes to go in the third quarter...
Saints have to think about time time time…
Tempting with only inches to go
But I think kicking it was the right thing to do. Get up by 2 tds and put pressure on the Saints. If you don’t get it, it would be a huge lift to the Saints and might change momentum.
Field goal good...
Saints have a very good FG kicker…could prove the difference
Seattle 34-20
definitely Seattle...
Olindo Mare lol not HArtley
4th and inches for the Saints.

Here's the thing
Fat: 1 gram = 9 calories
Protein: 1 gram = 4 calories
Carbohydrates: 1 gram = 4 calories
Alcohol: 1 gram = 7 calories
So in a 55 calorie beer, there are necessarily ~8 grams of alcohol. Which equates to slightly less than 2/3s of the alcohol in a normal industrial brew, which is approximately 5%. Miller has found a new way to market near-beer.
