Chris Harris Released

http://espn.go.com/chicago/nfl/story/_/id/7155185/chicago-bears-release-chris-harris

Chris Harris was released today by the Bears after requesting a trade about a week ago. Anyone interested? You think he could make it work in a 3-4 after being in a cover 2 for most of his career? Its rare to see a pro bowl caliber player released mid season like this.

We could certainly use some depth at safety...

he is best at the line of scrimmage

think Capers prefers FS and SS to have a lot of range (ie Collins and Burnett). From what I understand, that is Harris’s biggest problem.

based on that, would be surprised if they pick him up even though they need depth.

I have to admit, I don’t know a ton about how he plays…thanks for the insight.

I was thinking we should pick up Harris too

But if his style doesn’t mesh we may as well not bother

I think we should too

Too many reason why we should, not enough why we shouldn’t. Don’t forget how we got a certain Charles Woodson. NO one wanted that broken down former Heisman winner that was coming off a broken leg other than Green Bay. A guy that was trouble, didn’t fit into the locker room and argued with McCarthy from the get go. His primary position when he came in… Punt Returner. 8 years later, he’s tripled his Interceptions, and only one behind Rod Woodson for most Pick 6’s. He’s a Leader for the team and Locker Room Favorite. Oh… and a little something called a Super Bowl Championship…

Stranger things have happened in GB, and the Packers are Harris’ best chance in getting a ring. The Most Dangerous player is the one with a chip on his shoulder.

Its always fun to line a guy up against his former team…it would be nice to be on the GOOD side of that for once! :-)

Make some sense...

His primary position when he came in… Punt Returner. 8 years later.

Woodson was brought in to be another lock down CB to pair w/ Harris becuiz we played almost exclusively Press Man coverage! If you didn’t know that much your not much of a fan! His VERY secondary role was as a PR. Making up craplike this just makes you look foolish!!

You've been Stroh'd™!!!

I stopped reading here.

lol

That would be similar to this next statement:

Don’t forget how we got a certain Clay Matthews.

His primary position when he came in... punt blocker. 3 years later.

"I'm here to talk about the economy today -- about the need to get four quarters of strong, consistent performance. That wasn't another Jay Cutler joke, I swear. It could be, but it's not."
