Fantasy Football Week 8: What Do You Think Of Emmanuel Sanders?
I've been looking for fantasy football sleepers on the Green Bay Packers, but with the Packers on the bye, I've had to look elsewhere for some players.
WR Emmanuel Sanders. He finished strong in 2010, but it hasn't carried over this season. I'd also point out that I'm not his biggest fan either. He doesn't seem to play well whenever I'm watching him, and he's fallen behind fellow second year WR Antonio Brown on the depth chart.
But, for whatever reason, Brown has still never caught a touchdown pass in his career. Maybe that'll change against a poor Patriots pass defense. Or maybe Sanders, who had one touchdown reception last week, will be the biggest beneficiary of the ankle injury that's expected to keep Hines Ward out on Sunday.
Sanders is in a deep sleep this season with only 13 receptions in his first 7 games, and I'll admit I passed on him in favor of a couple other receivers off the waiver wire. But he's a long shot with a chance to score since he'll get more playing time with Ward out and it's a favorable match-up.

I'm definitely playing Sanders as bye-week fill-in
He was a player that had a lot of buzz in the pre-season. He’s a decent receiver who is an excellent complement to Mike Wallace, and the Steelers can throw the ball a little bit. Sanders had a slow start, but he’s got as much upside as anyone on the waiver wire and could have a good second half of the season.

im playing Sanders too this week.
stupid Andre Johnson sitting out means i had to drop DHB for Sanders
Sanders has some fantasy value, especially in PPR
but Antonio Brown is the guy there after Mike Wallace. He hasn’t caught a TD yet, but he’s 27th among receivers in targets (48 – so 6 per game), which is only 2 less than Mike Wallace. He’s dynamic but Sanders is a better route runner. Hines Ward has been hurt, and he’s at the end of his career, so it’s going to be Mike Wallace-Antonio Brown-Emmanuel Sanders there for the forseeable future.

From what I’ve read, Sanders is the replacement for Hines if he’s out. I am also hearing that Hines should still be playing though which hurts Sanders value. Brown will still get the same number of snaps though as he’s the slot guy, one of the better young slot guys in the game right now. Another nice one week play might be Torrey Smith from the Ravens (they play the Cardinals)

My only issue is that Flacco is borderline drop-able
His inconsistencies hamper the effectiveness of all his WRs. I have Anquan Boldin in most of my leagues, and while his average points per week is decent, I can’t ever count on him the way I could when he was in Arizona (albeit with a far better QB in Warner).
Long story short, Torrey Smith had one good quarter of football, and I doubt he’ll be much more than a Devery Henderson type receiver.
