Johnny Jolly Is Arrested Again

What a waste of talent. From the Press-Gazette:

Houston police arrested Jolly, 28, about 11:30 p.m. Saturday on suspicion of possessing a controlled substance and tampering with evidence, both felonies, said deputy Toby Devine of the Harris County Sheriff’s Department in Texas.

Welll.....

I wish I could say I was shocked to see this. Dude totally ruined his promising career before he even cashed in on a big contract. Enjoy the UFL if they’ll have you.

I doubt he will be that lucky

That makes like 4 arrests in less than 4 years right? He will be lucky not to go to jail for a few years.

yea..

that dude is probably going to jail

by packers34 on Oct 3, 2011 2:25 PM CDT up reply actions

Haha, tampering with evidence.

I can just see him trying to be all stealthy-like at 330 lbs….

I already told you! I deal with the god damn receivers so the linebackers don’t have to! I have coverage skills; I’m good at covering people! Can’t you understand that? What the hell is wrong with you people?!

Yeah, but that doesn't conjure up nearly as great of an image!

Jail?!?!

That mo fo headed to Prison, son! Aint no jail for 3-4 felonies in as many years. Its the big house for Jonny Jolly, Ill never forget taking Jonny’s booth at the Oval Office right before he arrived afterthe 2009 Dallas game, and my buddy spilling JJ’s Patron all over the floor on accident, suprisingly no late hit then!! But we always thought from that night on, hey, Isnt he on probation??? Sure was!! Didnt matter! JJ couldnt stay ot the club!!

it was crazy, but all in all, I made $10 and the infectious diseases were well worth it.

Mr. Comeonarodge...

what you’ve just typed is one of the most insanely idiotic things I have ever read. At no point in your rambling, incoherent response were you even close to anything that could be considered a rational thought. Everyone in this room is now dumber for having read that post. I award you no points, and may God have mercy on your soul.

You mean he DIDN'T turn his life around?

Simply amazing. I’d wager that he gave up on football, even if football gave up on him well before that.

sad that he hasn't been able to turn it around

sounds like the guys needs real help, when you’ve had several chances to turn things around and can’t get out of your own way, it’s usually the sign of a bigger problem. The team doesn’t need him (although, a healthy, right-minded Jolly was a solid player and would have added some nice depth), but I hope for his sake as a person he can get things straightened out

My problem

Is that I can never figure out Buddhasillegitimateshild38’s opinion.

Or that I hate Apple products.

by GinSlinger on Oct 3, 2011 4:42 PM CDT up reply actions

I agree.

Loved him as a player. He has a huge addiction and I am very sad about that.

One thing Favre had right…. was that the NFL addiction policy is wack. Just when you need your team the MOST, you can’t have contact with them.

by LorenzoBandini on Oct 3, 2011 5:54 PM CDT up reply actions   1 recs

Correct

If the NFL would have allowed the Packers to put Jolly into a drug rehabilitation program in Wisconsin – away from his old drug-taking crowd, this probably would never have happened and he would be on the team right now contributing. But the NFL is more worried about its reputation than it is about the players.

Rehab?

Has this guy even tried an inpatient facility? He needs help! I have been given prescription strength painkillers, and I can see how someone could get addicted to them. However, I could also recognize if I had a problem, I would take the steps necessary to get help. I don’t think the addiction is as strong as it would be to say crack or meth, but then I’m not an athlete with umpteen surgeries to my knees or whatever, nor an addict. I got prescribed my pills when I had kidney stones! Ouch! DAY-UMM!!

newsworthy

Jolly getting arrested doesn’t sound like news anymore. Instead of updating us on this, can you please just let us know any time that he goes more than 3 months without an arrest?

He was even stupid on the field with those late hits! Happened too often.

First sentence says it all

This is a guy who had a chance to be part of a Super Bowl run last year and could have been part of something special this year too.

I don’t doubt his football career is over, but I hope he is able to turn his life around and get away from drugs. If he does, I’m sure there will be something positive down the line for him in life.

Didn't the second time he got arrested...

result in a very easy probation sentence instead of 20 yrs in prison for having MORE codeine than the first time? And that was after the first arrest, when they told him to turn it around or he’d go to prison.

A third time? Well…… if its codeine, they almost have no choice but to put him in prison now just to keep their word on the matter.

there is a silver lining...

one of my buddies in FF named his team: Codeine Makes Me Jolly!

what in the world would he have named his team without his antics.

Thanks JJ, youre the smartestestestest!
