They played back a clip from some radio station that Aaron was on a few days ago, and he basically said that Skip Bayless just says things for the shock value (which he does) and that he would school Bayless, if given the oppportunity.

Tebow didn't win that game the Jets defense lost it.
The Jets stopped Tebow all game long giving up just 3 points playing mostly in their base defense. On the last drive they switched to a nickel and showed no interest in tackling.

My chimney issues were for a furnace chimney, not a fireplace, and the potential dangers were of a carbon monoxide variety, not a fire hazard.

The chimney wasn’t great at exhausting, so they started a fire, went to bed & never woke up. They put plexiglass over the fireplace so it wouldn’t be used, but I found it bizarre that they didn’t clean out the remaining wood/ash which killed people.

Not allowing female-only participation. Otherwise, it’d be the two of us chatting – which, while admittedly an awesome idea, would lead to mayhem and destruction elsewhere as the menfolk tried to find things to do.
The “Ask whoever” threads were where one poster would volunteer to answer whatever sort of questions people would throw at them – ranging from vaguely serious to totally insane. They were amusing and a better feature than anything ladies-only.
Except bathrooms. I like ladies-only bathrooms.

Lucky for Oregon, if LSU and Alabama/Arkansas win out, it might be an all SEC National Championship, so Oregon might not have lost as much [correct me if I’m wrong], as they can still win the Pac-12 and get to the Rose Bowl (If they play Wisconsin in the Rose Bowl, I’ll shoot myself)

I don't think we'll get a rematch.
The fact that three SEC teams are 1-2-3 is INSANE. There simply is no justification; Arkansas has beaten nobody aside from a very vulnerable USC squad (sans Marcus Lattimore, possibly the best running back in that conference). Texas A&M and Auburn were in the top-25 at the time they played the Razorbacks, but where are both teams now? aTm is 6-5 and Auburn 7-4 (and Auburn has been bludgeoned to death by every SEC team with a pulse).
This year’s Arkansas is reminding me scarily of 2006 Wisconsin, except the 2006 Badgers had an actual defense and didn’t end up with a ton of close games. But unlike 2006 Wisconsin, Arkansas gets a crack at #1 LSU this weekend. 206 Wisconsin did not get to play 2006 Ohio State.
I hope, for chaos’s sake, that Arkansas beats LSU this weekend. LSU is damn good though, and I’m not too confident that will happen. It’s a test of Arkansas’s wide-open passing attack against LSU’s secondary, and no team has truly dared to test the Tigers through the air with that offense aside from Wf’ingVU (which gained more than 500 yards of offense but still made TONS of stupid mistakes, allowing LSU to pound the Mountaineers in Morgantown).

The team that squeaked out a 1 point win over the same aTm team & lost to Iowa State?
The team that lost by 20 to Clemson, and has a 4 point win over Duke?
Somebody from the Pac 12? The team that lost to LSU by 13? or the team who lost to that team by 23?
Honestly, I think the only team that has an argument for the #3 ranking not in the SEC is Houston, and it’s not much of an argument.

I would put Oklahoma State over Arkansas, based on SOS. Even with the loss.
T. Boone Pickens U. may have lost, but they have played tougher opponents all year long. Arkansas’s one litmus test this year came up with decidedly unsavory results; they were squashed by Alabama. Auburn has been conclusively proven to be a shell of last year’s MNC squad, which faced arguably the toughest slate of SEC teams of the last decade and came away totally unfazed.
Arkansas has played one team that could make the postseason in OOC (aTm, and even then the Aggies are on life support at 6-5). Troy is a pitiful 3-7 and 2-6 in Sun Belt play; New Mexico is 1-10. Add in an FCS squad to that royal mess, even worse, one that is 2-9 on the year, and you have the recipe for the 73rd ranked SOS in the nation*.
(* = I don’t like Sagarin at all, as his formula completely hates Wisconsin, but that’s where he has Arkansas)

Yeah, this pretty much sums it up.
I think it comes down to either Arkansas or OK St., and because their one loss came to Iowa St. with Arkansas’ coming from Bama’, they get the edge. I agree that Auburn isn’t great nor is USC without Lattimore but I’m not convinced that both aren’t stronger than Texas or Kansas St.

Well, LSU and Bama’ are perfectly justified as #1 and #2.
I’m not all that impressed with Arkansas. But then again, I’m not very impressed with anybody really aside from LSU or Bama’. The question becomes, who do you put at #3? VT’s schedule is weak. I don’t Stanford deserves it. They just got blown out, and barely were able to sneak by USC and Cal. I could see an argument about OK St. but they’ve been tested even less than Arkansas or Stanford really, for that matter. They’ve got a win over a wildly overrated Texas team, barely beat aTm, a decent Kansas St. team and then lost to Iowa St. It’s hard to justify putting them at 3 after losing to a 5-4 Iowa St..
At this point, I don’t see how LSU and Bama’ don’t play again. They’re both clearly the best teams in the country. And for the record, this exact scenario is why I get so upset that Wisconsin lost those two games. The circumstances for them to go to the National Championship were perfect. You knew LSU or Bama’ had to lose, and had they gone undefeated and won the Big Ten, it’d be hard to justify not putting them in the championship.

I think a one-loss Alabama would definitely get the #2 spot over a one-loss Wisconsin, and a one-loss OK State might get it too. I’m fairly certain we absolutely HAD to go undefeated with that schedule to get a spot over these other one-loss teams.

Justin Verlander won the AL MVP. First pitcher to win an MVP since Eckersley in ’92, and first starter since Clemens in ’86.
IMO, He’s the most deserving candidate in my recent memory. Except for maybe Sabathia in 2008, since he single-handedly carried the Brewers to the playoffs on 3 days rest.

I'm cautiously optimistic
The big concern in the clubhouse over the last year and a half was the chumminess between manager and players. Reports of a “country club” type atmosphere have begun to surface, and I’m hoping that Sveum’s (seemingly) no-nonsense approach can straighten some heads out there.
I like the fact that he’s only been a replacement skipper in the past, Hopefully, this means that Epstein and Hoyer can bring him over to their way of thinking quickly, and the club can start to have some message cohesion at every level of management. The Cubs looked increasingly directionless over the last three years, and I’d like to see some firmer hands pointing them to where they should be going, especially if the team is going to get appreciably younger in the next couple of seasons.
Don’t expect much for 2012, but 2013 could be a very interesting season indeed.

I guess what I take from this...
Is that 1) you have to get a pretty nice schedule to win, and 2) you still have to be somewhat good to win the SEC.
Though this year, I think college football has so much parity. The SEC is not immune to playing soft schedules—out of conference—as have other conferences. IDK, I feel the SEC may be the best conference, but I think they are a bit overrated as the gap between the top conferences really isn’t much.

It sure seems like the SEC teams that draw the softest schedules and win their division
are ill-prepared to face a team from the other division that had a tougher in-conference SOS. 2006 Arkansas, 2009 Florida, and 2008 Alabama all lost the SEC Championship Game.

Thanksgiving by one’s lonesome is a lot more work.

I was actually “working” for 16 hours but came home and was “on call” for most of the late morning and early afternoon (including Packer game). Unfortunately that didn’t allow me to do anything elaborate cooking-wise.
