Aaron Rodgers' "Chris Hovan"

Remember Chris Hovan, the journeyman Viking defensive tackle who got his 15 minutes of fame during an undistinguished career by declaring his hatred of Brett Favre and garnering some media attention over a couple of seasons?  Well, it appears Aaron Rodgers now has his version of Chris Hovan in Skip Bayless, an untalented hack attempting to gin up some personal publicity by coming after Rodgers.

I flipped on ESPN Radio this Friday morning to hear EPSN's Z team of Bayless and Stephan A. Smith subbing for the A team of Mike and Mike.  Bayless declared that Tom Brady was far and away the best QB in the league.  Smith protesting, mentioning Rodgers.  Bayless then stated that he couldn't consider Rodgers a great quarterback until Rodgers showed him a two minute drive to win a game like Brady did a week ago.

What a moron!  Does Bayless, a professional sports journalist, realize that Rodgers has led his team to a league record 17 consecutive games WITHOUT TRAILING in the fourth quarter?  As good as Rodgers is, he can't pull off the impossible feat of conducting a fourth quarter comeback victory when the Packers are never trailing in the fourth quarter.

Rodgers is handling this well, with his usual aplomb.  In a press conference a week or two ago, Rodgers was asked about some criticism directed at him by Bayless.  Rodgers said that he wouldn't mention Bayless by name, but that there were certain sports reporters who simply said outrageous things to draw attention to themselves.  Bayless responded by calling Rodgers "thin skinned."

Bayless, you're pathetic.

Anyone that watches or listens to ESPN deserves what the get.

Napoli's 27th, 28th, 29th and 30th homers of the year (four more than Jeff Mathis' career total) rained down on Angel Stadium like knives from the ceiling.

I like to watch ESPN when I have 15 minutes or so of free time during the day. (If I start watching reruns of Law & Order, then I’ve got to watch the whole thing.) And it can be okay. There are some people on there that I like. Even Bayless can be tolerable if the subject isn’t one of about a half-dozen that he obsesses over. But too often, he is just plain stooopid. He does it to stir things up and make a debate out of non-issues. The pre-text for the show he’s on is to debate 10 subjects every day. Finding 10 truly debatable subjects a day for 5 days a week is impossible, they so they have Bayless to say idiotic stuff. Trouble is, he seems to believe what he says.

If Rodgers was really as good as everyone says,

he’d be able to play QB for the Packers and their opponent every week, and lead 8 lead-changing drives between the 2-minute warning and the final whistle.

Packers? Working on a dynasty.
Blackhawks? Taking care of business as usual.

Brewers, Badgers? THIS IS WHY YOU CAN'T HAVE NICE THINGS.

Dickhead I mean Bayless has always had and ax to grind with the Packers in general

Back when he was a dickhead writer in Dallas in the 90’s he would write shat like this to get attention too. Face it Rogers could buy and sell Skips worthless ass. In 4 years when Rogers has 3-4 super bowl rings and 3 league MVP’s skip will be begging to be first in line to kiss Rogers ass lol

Skip Bayless? Does anyone actually listen to that guy?

What has he even done or said to deserve being heard? That guy is a joke and his cold pizza show is the second worst show ESPN has on (after the one where the two guys just yell at each other for a half hour). Those two shows are the reason that the only reason I watch ESPN now is when there is a football game on. I don’t even listen or respond to anything he says, he’s a morning show guy from Dallas, he knows about as much about greatness as QB as someone who lives in France.

:-) He might not even be the best QB on IR anymore at this point in his career (taking injuries into account on future production).
