Suh To Be Suspended For At Least Two Games
According to Adam Schefter, it's "at least two games." But when I read that I think Ndamukong Suh is going to get only a two game suspension for his stomp of Green Bay Packers OL Evan Dietrich-Smith. I was expecting only a one game suspension. Kevin Seifert pointed out that the Packers passing game improved after Suh was ejected, so this will impact the Lions playoff hopes.
And as a side note on the ejection of CB Pat Lee, the Packers didn't realize that Lee had been ejected until Jim Schwartz pointed it out to the refs. It's just odd that everyone missed it. I can't imagine the Packers were trying to find some advantage by keeping Pat Lee in the game.

They were never going to suspend him the rest of the season
Two games seems about right and it absolutely kills Detroit for their next game against the Saints who, like the Packers, should go off without Suh’s rush.
Strippers do nothing for me. I like a strong, salt of the Earth, self-possessed woman at the top of her field. Your Steffi Grafs, your Sheryl Swoopeses, but I will take a free breakfast buffet anytime, anyplace.
I think it's right
2 games is pretty significant when he’s their best player on D and it’s the second half of the season, and they are making a push for the playoffs. And while the head-jam and stomp was bad, it wasn’t anything we haven’t seen before, so I think 2 games is pretty much right.
Montee Ball for Heisman.
Tajh Boyd and Dre' Ellington are the future.
Pat Lee is the cornerstone of our defense. Without him, we're 6-5 at best.

Agree,
I wish Charles Woodson would have been ejected instead.

Wood is too good!
You never hear about Pat Lee on defense. You hear about Matthews, Hawk, Walden, Wood and Tramon, maybe Bush or Shields too. Wood or Hawk would be sorely missed. The guy who I think is missed most on the defense from last year is Jenkins. As far as Walden sitting in jail all weekend: Dumbass! 2 things can be going on at 2:30 a.m. You’re either sleeping or making love. If you’re not doing one, you better be getting ready to do the other!

I'm expecting 3 games.
I don’t think he’ll be gone for the rest of the season, but his other previous incidents added to this one should push it to the 3 games. That might be enough to cost the lions a playoff berth, and then the coach and team might have the balls to stand up to him and make him stop acting like a freakin moron! They’ll be able to point directly to the the fact that they didn’t make the playoffs for the first time, in god know when, all becuz of him!
You've been Stroh'd™!!!
Another reason
to make it three instead of two:
It was Suh who requested the meeting with Goodell earlier this month,
not the other way around.
It was Suh who initiated the process to clarify what he could and couldn’t do, then he turns right around and does something like this?
Turns out it was all a facade, and a waste of the commisioner’s time.
That deserves an extra game, even without the blatant lying about it immediately after the game.

Despite this incident being horrible... it probably is half as bad as the Haynesworth stomp
And he got 5 games. So if I had to guess I would say 2 with a really heavy fine or 3 with only a significant fine.
SUPER BOWL CHAMPS
No one got hurt
and It wasn’t aimed at the head. I think one would have done the trick.
All is vanity.
By itself this one incident would garner a one game suspension.
But when coupled w/ his other repeated incidents, its definitely time to step up the discipline! Gotta be more significant if they want to curtail it.

that's about right
I think 2 games is right. Haynesworth stomped on Guorode’s head and got 5, so I’d say 2-3 is the right range. More importantly – they need him to FEEL it so he’ll change his approach.
by rip_city_swagger on Nov 27, 2011 2:13 PM CST reply actions
But Haynesworth apologized to the Gurode and everyone else
And Suh never apologized to EDS or the Packers. And seemed to make himself the victim. I say he needs a $100K fine and at least three games to get it through his apparently incredibly thick skull that he screwed up bigtime.
He was too busy lying about his intent.
And Suh never apologized to EDS or the Packers.

So what about Robison kicking Lang in the groin?
I understand that Brian Robison doesn’t have the history or reputation of Suh but wasn’t his kicking T.J. Lang in groin just as flagrant? He only got a fine.
Haven’t we seen personal fouls like Pat Lee’s in a number of games this season that didn’t lead to being ejected? In retrospect it seems like the officials were setting an example and waiting for Suh to go off.
Point being it’s subjective and difficult to know where the powers that be will take this. That said, I’d bench the guy two games just for his post game comments…
Differences...
Kicking is more egregious than just hitting someone IMO. No doubt that Robison should have gotten a suspension for a game. He doesn’t have nearly the history that Suh has. Suh also pushed EDS’s head into the ground THREE times, not too mention that Suh has a history and requested a meeting w/ the commish to try to get his side across, wasting everyones time. Suh’s is worse than Robison by quite a bit. But your right about Robison, he should have gotten some kind of suspension, a game would have been good.
You've been Stroh'd™!!!
Slamming EDS head
Was the worst part, and is overlooked for some reason. Anything involving the head and neck areas is just asking for a serious injury. Add that to his track record, and he deserves the same penalty as Haynesworth (who had no prior history, IIRC).
Symphony X is the best band that ever was.

Nducklehead Suh got off easy
especially for the head twisting and head slamming. It is potentially dangerous stuff and it wasn’t the first time. The Lions drafted the Nducklehead, didn’t do much of anything to reel in his behavior and now will have to live with the consequences. I thought they were playoff bound, now I doubt it.
This suspension is stupid
He shouldn’t be suspended at all. He shouldn’t even have been ejected. Other players do just as bad if not worse shit throughout the course of any given game on any given day, and if you don’t think so you’re in denial.
Got links to videos
of “worse shit” that didn’t get called?
‘Cause, every one of these games is televised, and there are cameras all over the place, and there is damned little that goes on that doesn’t get captured by one of them, so you should be able to provide a plethora of such links, if true.

Ask any NFL player that's ever been in a fumble pile
And tell me he’s less guilty than Suh. You can’t.
Who can't?
Like I said, if what you say is true, t=you should be able to link to videos of it.
Why don’t you?
Because, you can’t!

Your a fool!
During a play you can get away w/ alot of shit. After a play is over? Whole nother story bro… One thing to kick or hit someone in the head during a play, thats just a penalty. After the play is over, you have to shut it down and check yourself! Suh is proving he is nothing but a cheap dirty player, and seems he has been for a long time! Your denial is as dullusional as Suhs!! Get help… Seriously, get help!!

Players do shit like push and shove after the play all the time. It’s a personal foul, 15 yards. Dietrich-Smith wasn’t exactly innocent there, so it wasn’t like Suh was pounding his head into the turf for no good reason.
I agree with Strohman.

There is a big difference between blocking a little longer and pounding a head into the ground and stomping on someone. You are trying to justify something that isn’t justifiable…just stop.

“I’ve had my ankles twisted. I’ve been bit. I’ve done stuff. I’ve tried to break guys’ elbows, pinching people, twisting ankles, trying to bend up their arms, pop an elbow out. Why? I had to fight back.” – Former DT Kris Jenkins
Everyone does this. Suh’s just getting scapegoated because people saw it.
You have sour grapes because your idiot player can’t control his temper. So your defense is “well other guys do it” waaaah. Did he break a rule? Was he stupid enough to do what he did in plain site of dozens of cameras and referees? You are also comparing two different things, someone in a pile trying to pry a ball free and a guy pinning ONE person down, repeatedly pounding his head onto the ground and then stomping on his arm. If you can’t see the difference you are just in denial.

When did football become a sissy sport?
Oh no – someone was hit. Oh no – someone got a cleat to the stomach. Oh no – no touching!!
Look up at the ring of Hall of Fame Packers – you see Ray Nitschke. I saw him cleat more then one opponent, try to rip the head off a few more and be far more aggressive then Suh has ever been cloth line even more. I see, We Love Ray stickers and signs all over Packerland. How can you cheer him as a hero but chide Suh. Shame on the NFL for turning a once great and aggressive sport in nothing more then basketball on grass. Shame on you for buying into the changes.
I see more contact allowed between NBA centers then I see allowed between a WR and CB as they fight for position.
SAD!
Here's an idea.
Let's make the NFL over into the XFL!
The difference is as simple as
Ray Nitschke played within the rules!

In the rules?
I do not recall kicking a player ever being within the rules. Not being called or ignored doesn’t make it legal.
Anyhow if murder was legal 40 years ago and we cheered Ray for living with the rules and Suh does the same today – but someone now tells you it is bad, we crucify him. That is my point.
Don’t like the violence, watch the PBA or NBA. I hear curling is big in winter time.
Pretty much anything goes during a play.
When the play is over that crap ends! Being a cheap shot artist isn’t tolerated in any sport, including UFC!

yeah because this is the same game as it was then. you could also mug WRs left and right, do high lows on players, etc. Just cause they allowed stupid dangerous crap in the 60s doesn’t mean it shoudl be now.

I think I said that...
it wasn’t the same game. You could mug WR’s after the play but they still had pass interference. What they did not call was this ticky tack hand checking. Like I said – I have seen NBA centers fight for position harder then the NFL allows CB/WR to. That is pathetic!!!
And if Ray came form an era when football was so bad and dangerous – take down his name. Instead the HOF uses his image to glorify and glamorize his actions and era (as they should it was real football). I think lingerie football might be your style, but don’t ruin football for those who think it still should be an aggressive sport.
Aggressive is one thing...
CHeap and dirty is another thing altogether! How many players have died due to head drama that used to be legal? WOuld you be applauding that now??? Don’t be an idiot!!

I am not interested in seeing the game be what it used to be. Look at the condition most of these guys are in now. They are all dying at young ages due to all the undiagnosed concussions and stuff. The game was reckless and ridiculous. It was ignorance then…if you are a fan of what Suh did, you are a classless fool who isn’t a fan of the higher execution of the game. If you want people hitting and punching like fools turn on a boxing match or flip on hockey.

bullshit
I’m calling you out on this one. It’s easy to claim that someone did something dirty 50 years ago and before the nfl’s tv boom. After the Ice Bowl, Dan Reeves called Ray dirty for kicking a guy after a play. In his autobiography, Ray went to great lengths explaining 1) that it hurt to be called dirty, 2) from Reeves’ angle, it looked like a kick, but that most other people realized he was kicking air out of frustration with himself, 3) he prided himself on playing mean but clean, and 4) that he later made-up with Reeves, and that Reeves agreed with Ray’s version.
by Anthony Dilweg on Nov 27, 2011 11:06 PM CST up reply actions 3 recs
Exactly. Plus its one thing to play hard and be aggressive. Its another to do what he did after a play is done. There is plenty of dirty crap that goes on during plays that is fine but when the play ends and do the stuff Suh did you are just a dirty little puss.
