Fantasy Football Week 9: Looking At James Jones and James Starks

Stay connected for news and updates

This week the Green Bay Packers are back! So it's time to kick the tires on which player might be a surprising fantasy start this week.

WR James Jones. I've mentioned him in past weeks, and he caught a touchdown pass in three straight games before settling for only 63 yards against the Vikings. Still not too bad if you're stuck with a bye week problem, or you're trying to find an emergency replacement for Andre Johnson or Hakeem Nicks. Surprisingly Jones is only starting in 20% of Yahoo leagues. Plus, according to Football Outsiders, the Chargers are the worst team in the NFL against No. 3 and No. 4 receivers.

RB James Starks. The Chargers are only ranked at No. 25 overall against the run according to Football Outsiders. It hasn't been a glorious season to own a Packer back, but Starks is consistent and he's received 14 to 16 touches over the previous three games. That's a lot of opportunities in a high powered offense. He's only starting in 30% of Yahoo leagues.
