Pre-Game Injury Report: Raiders at Green Bay Packers

Photo

If the Green Bay Packers listed a player on their Friday injury report, it's likely that player is out for their next game against the Raiders. While Clifton has been out for a while, Bishop and Sitton will miss their second consecutive game. So'oto and Starks will miss the Raiders game, but they were active for the game against the Giants. They'll miss Bishop, Sitton, and Starks. The absence of Bishop in particular could have been a reason why the defense struggled badly against the Giants.

Hawk and Woodson were also listed. Woodson should play, but Hawk is a likely game time decision.

The Raiders aren't the model of health with 13 players listed on the injury report. It looks like they'll be without Darren McFadden again, and without their WRs Jacoby Ford and Denarius Moore. It's possible that Jason Campbell could return this season, but he's out this week. Little used RB Taiwan Jones is also out. The other players (except DT John Henderson could be a game time decision) should all play on Sunday. Their offense is certainly better with McFadden, Ford, and Moore.

The complete injury report from Packers.com is listed after the jump.

With Sitton and Clifton out, is there any way possible the Packers can run the ball effectively just to (somewhat) balance out the offensive attack or will be just “pass happy” and hope that Newhouse is the good Newhouse this week with Saine in the backfield to help with protection?

I’m inclined to think that the over/under on carries this week is 12 with our O-Line banged up this bad.

Proud fan of the 2010 Stanley Cup Champion Chicago Blackhawks and the 2010 Super Bowl Champion Green Bay Packers.

I remember a couple of run plays last week where Newhouse got pushed back several steps into the backfield right off the snap

on a running play, that should never happen.

I’m thinking they’ll be running either to the right side or up the middle

football does not build character, it reveals character.

Newhouse is by far a better run blocker than Clifton!

Clifton has never been anything more than an ordinary run blocker, but was alway a terrific pass blocker! If anything w/ Newhouse playing LT the Packers are a much better run blocking team than w/ Clifton. The past couple years Cliffy has been completely unable to get a push or get to the 2nd level to get the cut blocks necessary! Newhouse is right now a better run blocker than Clifton ever was. And as I said as soon as Clifton was hurt, Newhouse should remain the starter w/ Clifton as the backup. More evidence here…

This makes it sound like you don’t think they can run behind Newhouse. And the backside OT and OG are important in run blocking even when running the opposite side.

Agreed

I stopped watching Newhouse, it was a horror show.

A pretty good way to neutralize pass rush is to run right at it,

so to help Newhouse they’re gonna have to run at him a bit. It’s gonna be interesting.

A samurai sword collection. If you can do it. I don’t know if you’re allowed.
