He was actually a sprinter in 100m/200m

As I recall, he wasn’t a super-sprinter, but part of the reason he ran track was to stay in shape during the off-season. He’s always picked up steam in the 4th quarter. He was an extremely hard worker—no NFL talent apparent during HS, but he was good enough to get into Notre Dame…he got his shot there and just kept getting better and better until he made it to the NY Giants 3rd string. Then of course he got his shot with the Packers.
