ESPN: Cutler Says There's "Outside Chance" He'll Play Against Green Bay

Full article here.

Chicago Bears quarterback Jay Cutler, who has missed the last three games while recovering from thumb surgery, said Wednesday that there is an "outside chance" he'll return on Christmas Day to face the Green Bay Packers in Lambeau Field, but he warned Bears fans not to get their hopes up.

Cutler Outside shot, let's not get anyone's hopes up, let's not ruin anybody's Christmas dreams, but outside, outside.

” -- Jay Cutler on possibly facing Packers
on Christmas Day

Cutler was asked a hypothetical question on "The Waddle & Silvy Show" on ESPN 1000 on Wednesday about the possibility of him returning to face the Packers if the Bears beat the Seahawks on Sunday in Seattle. The Bears have lost all three games that Cutler missed, but their wild-card hopes could remain alive with a win in Seattle.

"I'll say outside," Cutler said. "I wouldn't say it's good or definite or a real possibility, but there's always a chance, but like you said, we have to get this one first."

Please do, Jay.

You’re already careless with the football, now you want to play against our defense with your fucked up hand? You’ll make Palko look good.

I think their game against Seattle is in Chicago.

If it isn’t that would be 3 straight on the road, which I think is pretty rare.

I don't know. They're in the same position the Packers were last year.

Even with a win against Seattle, they’ll be a desperate team when they head up to Green Bay. How sweet would it be to knock them out two years in a row?

I've thought about that

but I just can’t see the Lions or Falcons losing enough games to help the Bears in.

Well, the Lions are going to lose their finale,

so I guess the Bears will have that to hang onto.

But, the Bears are going to lose their penultimate game.

Same position in the standings maybe...

but they are going in very different direction than last year’s Packers. They don’t have their starting QB for the foreseeable future (Rodgers only missed one full game with his concussion), and they don’t have the playmakers that the Packers do on the offensive side of the ball.

Cutler..

Apparently tried to “throw” this week. He called it more like shot-putting. Even if he tries to play, his accuracy will be worse than normal.

I would have made that joke a year ago, but after this season…. no way. That dude takes a beating.

Yeah that is a completely unfounded reputation. Probably comes from the playoff game last year but Cutler is a tough guy, he’s played through a lot and taken some HUGE beatings in his time with Chicago and their siv of a line!

This should be a poll

Who would we rather face – a rushed-back Cutler with a messed up thumb……..or Caleb Hanie, who was over-matched by Tim Tebow’s PASSING skills?

That’s a tough question.

Angelo: Right….so anyways Jay, I’m sure you understand that we needed to make this move and I wanna wish you the best of luck.

Cutler: (Swoops bangs out of eyes by throwing his head back) Whatever, I don’t need this team or you.

Decisions, decisions there....

I think at this point, just for selfish purposes, I wanna see them face Hankie. Just because Bears fans are saying “We almost beat you with our backup so we should’ve won that game!” Yeah, that’s the usual Bears fan logic right there.

ya..

irritates me when I hear that too..People here act like if they would have scored a TD instead of Shields making the pick, that they would have won. That would have only TIED the game.

I agree to a point...

And that point is that the Badgers would have absolutely beaten the Spartans in overtime if the Hail Tebow had fallen to the ground where it belonged.

Yup just like the Vikings would have won against the Bears last week and the Eagles would have beat us in week 1 last year.

I wish Jay nothing but the best and a speedy recovery to come back to green bay able to play.

it’s no fun when you know the other team can’t score more than 12 points on you. We need the challenge to get us ready for the playoffs.

He is a strange kid that Cutler. On one hand, you’ve got people who love him and think he’s the toughest guy in football, and everywhere else in the world, people mock and ridicule him for quitting on his team.

The truth is somewhere in between. What is unmistakable is that the bears are better with him on the field than without him. as are they with forte.

however….

if they can’t beat Seattle this weekend, their season is all but over. I wouldn’t expect to see either of them rush back to the team when their chance at the playoffs is all but done. Those two guys going down killed their season.

So watch this weekend gents, and know that if they win, the chance of seeing him in lambeau and cheering “you tapped out” shoots up about 800%.

Let’s go get some chiefs. Time to make it another indian massacre (i’m part sioux, so it’s all good if i say it.)
