Andrew Quarless Is Out For The Season and Other Packer Injuries
Packersnews.com | Green Bay Packers | Insiders Blog " Packers tight end Quarless out for season. Obviously his loss won't mean the Green Bay Packers dream of an undefeated season and Super Bowl repeat are gone, but I feel bad for the guy. TE Andrew Quarless started out as a receiving tight end and he's become a valuable blocker on offense. He injured his knee while covering a kick on special teams and he'll need surgery.
They still have four other tight ends on the roster, so they can easily replace him. Earlier this season, I'd have guessed that this would have opened the door for rookie TE D.J. Williams. But Williams has been left inactive for the last couple games in favor of rookie TE Ryan Taylor. The offense uses three tight end formations, so one of them will get more playing time.
Mike McCarthy also told reporters that Charles Woodson suffered a concussion and he'll go through the protocol with the doctors to determine whether he can return to practice later this week. Desmond Bishop, A.J. Hawk, and Josh Sitton will all be re-evaluated on Wednesday for their various injuries. Bishop was really missed against the Giants, but he says he'll be back next Sunday to face the Raiders.

IT'S THE CURSE OF JOE PA'S LEG!!!
A samurai sword collection. If you can do it. I don’t know if you’re allowed.
Quarless was the guy who smashed into Paterno on the sidelines and broke his leg a few years ago.

My love for Quarless just went from a 8 to a 10.
My new favorite player? Not quite, but he’s close.

Pre-Sandusky?
I always thought Paterno was a bad-ass, even if I don’t necessarily like the team he coaches. He was as old-school (like, totally “old”-school) as they come.

like 'old-school' as in 'turn a blind-eye to child abuse' because nobody cared about that back in the day?

No
old school like waiting to see solid evidence before going to the police on hear-say.

solid evidence?
He should have asked for a semen sample from the rape of a 10-year old before going to the police? or a bleeding anus photo? Sorry, NO. Call the cops, apologize if your’re wrong and it was really only an innocent 55-year old shower with an unrelated 10 year old boy with no one else around.

The guy who supposedly witnessed it didn't go to the police
but Paterno is getting crucified because he didn’t?

One error doesn’t excuse a second error. They are BOTH in the wrong.

How is Paterno wrong?
Are you just supposed to blindly report anything you overhear to police, even if you have no evidence to suggest any sort of validity to the claims?
Have you reported Sandusky to the police? You’ve heard & seen as much evidence as Paterno. You overheard others suggest what he did. You, according to your own standards, are “in the wrong” if you haven’t reported this to the police yet. So, did you report this to the police or are you a pedophile sympathizer?

he should have encouraged the witness to report it rather than being more concerned with protecting the reputation of his institution

These arguments go nowhere.
Not the place nor the time. Was going to continue it, but on these issues of morality people never seem to agree, especially those operating with hindsight bias.
I already told you! I deal with the god damn receivers so the linebackers don’t have to! I have coverage skills; I’m good at covering people! Can’t you understand that? What the hell is wrong with you people?!
Nuh uh!

that was a sarcastic comment on my part
in my honest opinion, both of them were in the wrong, but McQueary more so because he was the one who actually witnessed it.

When active
Williams has seen the field over Taylor. In fact, I don’t think Taylor has played a single snap on offense. This could change, but I think Williams has a much better chance of seeing the field more over Taylor.
Yeah, I think Taylor is going to be strictly a special teams guy for us. It’ll be interesting to see how Williams does. He’s got some good potential as a receiver.

Note to the people arguing with me about Quarless' injury after the game,
there are always serious ligament tears when a leg gets bent like that, from the side.
In the world of coach-talk, a “serious sprain” means complete ligament tears/detachment and IR. Sprains include variable levels of injury to ligament.
