A.J. Hawk Released
Word is out that the Packers, who owe Hawk somewhere around $10 million on his contract, have released the fifth-overall pick from 2006. More to come, obviously.

well this is exciting
I hope Kotsay gets hit by a dump truck and slips into a coma where he is stuck forever in Baseball purgatory having to bat against a three-headed, six-armed Lefty Hydra consisting of Billy Wagner, Damaso Marte, and Randy Johnson. - Shoeless In SC
I was more surprised
to see Donald Lee released than Hawk. Hawk I expected, but Lee contributes on an already weak special teams squad. I don’t know what his contract looks like though.
With Finley coming back he’s expendable though, and especially because Crabtree was pretty solid for us.

Lee makes sense
He’s getting older and wasn’t too productive last year.

i'm ok with this
Hawk is OK, but at $10M is way too expensive. He was supposed to be Clay Matthews, before we had Clay Matthews.
I do hope we can re-sign him at a lower$ number
Donald Lee was expendable, Finley will be back and Quarless showed enough last season, and we still have Crabtree
