GM Ted Thompson's Top 10 draft picks for the Green Bay Packers. No. 7: LG Daryn Colledge.
I'm really reluctant to include him on this list, but he had a very good 2010 season and he's been a solid selection.
While he's allowed a lot of sacks over the years, many of them took place when they tried him at left tackle. At one time, they did believe he had a future protecting the blind side. But after a disastrous stretch during 2009 as the replacement for injured LT Chad Clifton, the Packers have finally given up and left him at guard. And he played his finest season in 2010 as he did a much better job handling bull rushes in pass protection.
He joined the team in 2006 as a second round pick, and he was immediately installed in the starting lineup. Admittedly the team was desperate for offensive lineman after a chaotic 2005 season, but he did prove he could play right away. He was benched late in 2007 when he struggled in pass protection, but otherwise he's been a fixture on the line and started 76 regular season games in his 5 year career.
