As I read all the reaction from the owners on the lifting of the lockout I get more and more confused. If there truly is no Players Union this would give the NFL power to enforce any set of rules for their employees they want, just like the jobs that you and I do.
All of this "..there will be no cap and NFL will not have parity anymore" WHY? Can't the league now unto itself say ok the floor for your teams salary is X and the cap is now X either abide by these rules or you are no longer an NFL team? (I'm looking at you Dallas) Or ok everyone the draft will done as usual, if you draft high school kids or college players any other way there will fines and penalties.
Instead of going back to court RIGHT NOW the owners need to have a meeting to set up a new framework that NFL teams need to abide by to continue to be a NFL team. This could be the biggest win ever for the NFL if they would play their cards right.
As I see now the NFL has all the power and the players have none why is the league not jumping on this opportunity to make ALL THE RULES? What I'm I missing here?
