Rick Gosselin Mock Draft: Packers Select Brooks Reed

Stay connected for news and updates

As the Fan Post at Daily Norseman says, Rick Gosselin has "the best list of NFL contacts" so his 2011 NFL mock draft is a little more interesting than average. As I said on the podcast, I'm going to have a lot of faith in whoever GM Ted Thompson drafts in the first round because he's proven he knows what he's doing.

According to Gosselin, the Green Bay Packers will select Arizona LB Brooks Reed. I'm a little skeptical of Reed, who didn't impress in college but was a workout superstar at the NFL combine. But Thompson knows linebackers, and it would be a major endorsement of Reed's talent if the Packers draft him.

Around the NFC North, it would be somewhat of a surprise if both the Vikings and Lions drafted offensive lineman. And while most mock drafts have predicted the Bears will draft an offensive lineman, Gosselin says they'll select Pittsburgh WR Jon Baldwin. And Mike Mayock says Baldwin has a "well-earned" reputation as a diva.
