McNabb to Queens?
Ok, so I'm bored. The Packers news is slow, so why not goof on the Vikings? Latest news out of Saint Paul is that Donovan McNabb will be the next senior citizen to lead the Queens offense. The "wisdom" out of Minnesota is that the team has too much talent to rebuild and trust an unproven quarterback at the helm. Word is that Zygi would be willing to give up a 5th rounder for the clearly declining McNabb.
Commence goofing:

Let's hope so
I had to watch a whole lot of McNabb last year since I live in NFC East country, and based on what I saw, I would be quite happy to see McNabb traded to the Queens. Remember the field day Clay Matthews was having with him before he got injured in last year’s game against the Redskins? If McNabb played for the Queens it would be a sack bonanza for Clay twice a year!
One thing...
McNabb was totally unfamiliar w/ Shanahans offense, but Minn Offense is pretty much the same as McNabb had in Philly. So McNabb could easily be better in Minn than he was in Wash! He’s still on the downside of his career tho… So I doubt he’s that much better!
You've been Stroh'd™!!!
Assuming Frazier doesn't pull a Shanahan...
that could work in the Vikings’ favor more than I’d desire.
Of course, they’re still saddled with blessed to have that worthless amazing Bryant McKinnie starting for them.

The Vikings are 'too talented?'
Where exactly, besides RB?
Super Bowl XLV Champions, the Green Bay Packers!
This.
Between probably losing Rice and Edwards to free agency and the Williams Wall to Star Caps suspension, they’re getting thin. The o-line showed signs of weakness for a good part of the year.
I thought McNabb would end up there for a while, but because they stuck with Favre they missed out on a perfect system fit (under Childress). Now, under Frazier I’m not sure how well he does fit their offense anymore.
I have not yet begun to procrastinate.

That may be a good way to get Frazier fired
by losing and making him look bad. Seeing the growth of Vick/Kolb I have to think that a reason Mcnabb was so good for so many years may have been from Andy Reids coaching and play calling. Mcnabb looked pretty poor in D.C.. I think Mcnabb would struggle at Minn. and that could make it his last year in the League. The Vikings have a high enough draft pick that they could probably get a decent QB in the draft. If they can’t get the wheels back on this bus then in a few years it may go to the junkyard.
Consider what Washington had at receiver.

Oh, and...........wait..........
That’s all they have, lol. But I agree with most people that McNabb won’t be better than average anyways.

I'd like to see this!
The best thing for the Vikes organization right now is to dump everything and rebuild. They have to many holes, and shouldn’t be in win now mode anymore.

Exactly...
they should go to rebuild, rather than getting old QB after old QB to lead them on “1-season wonder” trips to the SB. Won’t work.

Hey, hey, hey...
We don’t want them to do the SMART thing! Let the dumbasses keep doing what they’re doing :)

THIS
let them suffer the death of ten thousand cuts. Let Adrian Peterson go to the Houston Texans, let Sidney Rice go to the Los Angeles Lakers Carolina Panthers, let Jared Allen go to the San Antonio Spurs New York Jets…

they would be missed if...
they go to l.a.. that’s 2 easy wins that will be leaving us. we would get the rams in return for the queens going to the nfc-west? just a thought.
matthews will have a sack fest on mcdone.. i mean mcnabb though.

I don't really want them to go to LA
(well maybe sort of). I just think it’d be funny for Minnesota to lose yet another franchise to LA. And the LA Vikings would make as little sense as the LA Lakers.

More Viking angst..
Apparently they had a hard time finding a preseason opponent..how long do they stay there?

I wouldn't want to play in that piece of crap, either.
+1
Super Bowl XLV Champions, the Green Bay Packers!
Well, looks I'm the only one...
…and maybe I’m wrong…
But McNabb always makes me nervous whenever we play him. Sure, he’s definitely declining, and I don’t think they’d have a successful season with him. But he’s always been a playmaker, and when he’s “on,” he can absolutely go off on somebody.
So, in the end, I wouldn’t be too worried if he went to the Vikes, but I’d be a little worried, and I’d rather (given the choice) that they be forced to deal with the nothing they’ve currently got at QB.
the thing is
with the current nothing they have at QB, they may consider actually tearing down the team and rebuilding. If they bring in McNabb, Wilf will think that the Vikes are still a good team that should be in win now mode. McNabb is a good short term option, but they don’t have a team around him to make him dangerous.

You know who I’d really love to see them trade for is Carson Palmer. That would be ideal, as he can barely throw two swing passes in a row without a pick-6 at this point. He would kill their season …and if they had to give up something to get him, then so much the better.

Rec'd
because that scenario makes me happy
Brewers, I'm planning on sending you the bill for the heart disease you'll eventually give me. Packers, you're on notice.

I think it could be a smart decision
It doesn’t necessarily mean that they’re not in rebuilding mode. McNabb is in the bargain bin right now. If the Vikings don’t like any of these potential busts at QB in this draft, then they need somebody else in there. The move would give them the ability to make a better first round pick.
yeah I think I agree. McNabb is going to give them a better performance in the short term but it puts their future on hold a while longer which actually might be in our best interests…

This is arguable, IMO.
McNabb is going to give them a better performance in the short term
I believe that the reason that the Eagles traded him to a division rival is because they believe that nobody can win with him anymore, and I think they are right.
I hope the Queens sign him.
Let ’em replace one washed up old quarterback with another. :)

Yeah that might be. He’s probably still better than Joe Webb and most likely better than a rookie QB would be in their first year. I honestly don’t think they are going anywhere no matter which direction they go!
