I'm still crossing my fingers that Griffey was clean
But then again so many weren’t that it wouldn’t surprise me either. Sad really.
No man should escape our universities without knowing how little he knows.

Agreed.
Griffey is one of the few “clean” ones from that generation. and if Pujols was ever caught with steroids, I don’t know how baseball could handle that…
"I'm tired of pretending I'm not a rock star from Mars."
I can’t imagine Griffey was doing anything. He was hurt too much and his body or performance really never changed all that much. I have a lot of respect for him, I would be very sad to hear he did something too!

Frank?
As in Thomas?
That would be DEVASTATING if I found out he was on something. I loved that guy!
The Green Bay Packers...Putting bad coaches out of their misery since 2010
yes, Thomas (my favorite all time white sox)
and I was saying he and Griffey are the two superstars who are most likely to have not done steroids, given Griffeys injurys and Thomas’s constant bitching at everyone for using steroids and being the only player to volunteer for the mitchell report investigation. he was just naturally a monster physically and probably could’ve been by far the homerun leader of the 1990s if steroids didn’t exist

Anyone own/play MLB "The Show" '11?
I have ‘10 and its the first baseball game I’ve bought in a long long time. I thought it was pretty good but have no comparisons. Is ’11 any good? Better? Worse? Worth the money?
by PhoenicianPakFan on Apr 10, 2011 12:42 AM CDT reply actions
I've played '10, not '11 though.
IMO ‘10 is the only good baseball game I’ve played since EA Sports stopped making them in 2005.
"I'm tired of pretending I'm not a rock star from Mars."
You've got the right series of baseball games.
Stick with The Show; it puts any of the 2K baseball games to shame.
Super Bowl XLV Champions, the Green Bay Packers!
I have The Show: '11 and it's a blast
They have added a lot to it, most notably different control styles so you can do what feels natural. If you have PS Move, the home run derby is just plain awesome. They also made a lot of minor tweaks that really improved an already very good game. I’d recomend picking it up.
Brewers, I'm planning on sending you the bill for the heart disease you'll eventually give me. Packers, you're on notice.
Great Moments in Sporting History: Apr. 6, 2011- Carlos Gomez takes a four pitch walk
I really struggled with hitting in '10 but its probably just because I suck
I was thinking of trying that PS Move too, but have no reason to really get it. Anything else its good for?
by PhoenicianPakFan on Apr 11, 2011 1:55 AM CDT up reply actions
Cue salesman voice
if you play any shooting games they are incorporating it more and more as an optional control style, as are almost all of the sports/fighting series. If you have any interest in strategy/military sims R.U.S.E has it pretty well integrated. And then the Sports Champions game that they usually bundle it with is pretty good too, especially the gladiator portion.
In short, Sony really does seem to think it will be a staple for them, as opposed to a gimic that will be phased out, and it seems to be better with each game they use it on.
Brewers, I'm planning on sending you the bill for the heart disease you'll eventually give me. Packers, you're on notice.
Great Moments in Sporting History: Apr. 6, 2011- Carlos Gomez takes a four pitch walk
I played shooting games on the Wii (which is what Sony is emulating) and honestly it was really subpar. Maybe it was technology where it was at with the Wii so if Sony has it down even better, maybe it will work…shooting games on the Wii sucked though. Really any serious gamer games sucked on the Wii…its why we moved to xbox. We loved it for when we had a bunch of friends over but sports and shooter games were terrible.
The Green Bay Packers...Putting bad coaches out of their misery since 2010
The Wii is a kid system
and as such it is cheap. Sony has much more precision and quality involved, as you would expect with the higher price tag. It also helps that there is a camera that tracks the motion along with the gyroscopic control Especially if you buy one of the “gun” peripherals, it doens’t feel drastically different from playing Time Crisis or Siphon Filter in an arcade, with regards to the shooters.
Brewers, I'm planning on sending you the bill for the heart disease you'll eventually give me. Packers, you're on notice.

They compared the Blackhawks-Red Wings game to the Bears-Packers game
In both cases, my fav team in that sport won, and Chicago lost.

I like the Blackhawks, too
I hope there’s a rematch of that game in the Western Conference Finals.
Looks like I’ll be able to watch a total of 3 games in the whole 1st round (and, that’s only if Flyers-Sabres goes to 6 games).
13.
They need to get through Vancouver first
but I have a sneaking suspicion that they are a little bit smoke and mirrors, thanks to playing in a pretty soft division.
Brewers, I'm planning on sending you the bill for the heart disease you'll eventually give me. Packers, you're on notice.

C-A-P-S CAPS CAPS CAPS!
Sounds familiar. I live near D.C., and the Caps are the only local team I cheer for.
I was just raised on Wisconsin sports
I’m sure if the Bradley Center had ended up hosting an NHL team like it was orignally supposed to I’d be all over them, but as it is I’m all Hawks. Especially now that they’re televised often and easier to follow as of about five years ago. That wasn’t the case for a long, long time.

Spurs fan here. I was okay with benching the guys until he played them all in the last game! What the hell…you don’t bench them in a HUGE game like the Laker game wehre you could have pushed the Lakers down to the 4 seed and then play them in a basically meaningless game (except to the Bulls). It WAS fun to see the reserves almost take down the Lakers though.

we DO need to address the DL. We have Raji, and Neal, but Harrell can’t hold up through a pre-season, Jolly’s a moron, and Pickett’s getting up there in years.

Still though, Neal looked like a player in his time (granted it was brief) and Wilson was solid too. Pickett’s old but he probably will have 2-3 solid years left. He doesn’t rely on quickness like some DL do, which is typically the first thing to go.
If Houston is gone, then by all means take Heyward. But if he’s still on the board, I think it’d be a bad move.

Dirk wasn't going to the basket for the first 3 quarters.
Nobody was… the Mavs were playing scared until then.
Super Bowl XLV Champions, the Green Bay Packers!
Nowitski attempted 14 shots inside through 3 quarters
and completed on just 4 of them. Then he hit 3 shots, and ESPN’s ready to crown his butt.
This game was impossibly frustrating for both teams involved. Portland would go on a run, then hit a cold streak in which they were missing layups. Dallas thought that would be a good idea, did just that, and the tides reversed. rinse and repeat.
Dallas just hit way too much from outside for Portland to contend. When you have 30 points from deep, what you give up inside isn’t as much of a concern.

I didn't believe it last August, but it turns out that love survives.

Yeah, agreed. Wouldn’t be surprised to see Torres get a suspension.

Good news for the Knicks: they took the Celtics down to the wire in their own building.
Bad news for the Knicks: Ray Allen is still awesome.

Today,
I stumbled upon a book which details hikes in North Carolina.
Not only is a hike up Clingman’s Dome in it, but also a hike up Mount Mitchell as well. For those who don’t know, Mount Mitchell is the tallest point east of the Mississippi River at 6,684 feet.

I NEED YOUR HELP!!!!!!
For some reason, a couple days ago my comment section hotkeys for SB sites stopped working. Nothing else on my computer is acting at all strangely. Anyone have any ideas about the issue?
Brewers, I'm planning on sending you the bill for the heart disease you'll eventually give me. Packers, you're on notice.
Great Moments in Sporting History: Apr. 6, 2011- Carlos Gomez takes a four pitch walk
Same issue here.
Stupid thing only works when it wants to…
Super Bowl XLV Champions, the Green Bay Packers!
That happens to me sometimes
but never for an extended period of time. It usually sorts itself out after a while.

For me, just clicking on the background area of the page....
gets it working. But now that links to ad pages so its kind of annoying.

SBN mock sent Ryan Williams to GB in the second round.
(is pissed; Ryan Williams finished with a lower YPC and fewer touchdowns than John Clay)

HEY! Now thats just uncalled for!
I died a little inside having to endure the first 3 seconds of that “song” while I quickly copied the link for the reply…. and I nearly cancelled the post thinking that nobody on here deserved this kind of treatment….. but I couldn’t help myself.

I was talking about the early '70s
but honestly, I think I’d rather hear the Bee Gees sing “Tragedy” than hear Hotel California for the 1,000,000th time.

I'd take almost anyone covering Bee Gees songs
Terrific songwriters. Singers, tho? Eh.

Are you sure you're talking about the Bee Gees?
Sure you don’t mean Bob Dylan? or Bruce Springsteen?

What do you think? He did it because it he's the Blazers coach?
If the Fakers coach, Phil Jackson, can’t get away with criticizing officials, then neither can he.
Super Bowl XLV Champions, the Green Bay Packers!
Phil Jackson doesn't complain about the officiating, at least not to my knowledge
and that’s because his team benefits more from terrible calls than any other in the league, even Miami.
