But then again so many weren’t that it wouldn’t surprise me either. Sad really.

Agreed.

Griffey is one of the few “clean” ones from that generation. and if Pujols was ever caught with steroids, I don’t know how baseball could handle that…

I can’t imagine Griffey was doing anything. He was hurt too much and his body or performance really never changed all that much. I have a lot of respect for him, I would be very sad to hear he did something too!

yes, Thomas (my favorite all time white sox)

and I was saying he and Griffey are the two superstars who are most likely to have not done steroids, given Griffeys injurys and Thomas’s constant bitching at everyone for using steroids and being the only player to volunteer for the mitchell report investigation. he was just naturally a monster physically and probably could’ve been by far the homerun leader of the 1990s if steroids didn’t exist

Anyone own/play MLB "The Show" '11?

I have ‘10 and its the first baseball game I’ve bought in a long long time. I thought it was pretty good but have no comparisons. Is ’11 any good? Better? Worse? Worth the money?

I've played '10, not '11 though.

IMO ‘10 is the only good baseball game I’ve played since EA Sports stopped making them in 2005.

I have The Show: '11 and it's a blast

They have added a lot to it, most notably different control styles so you can do what feels natural. If you have PS Move, the home run derby is just plain awesome. They also made a lot of minor tweaks that really improved an already very good game. I’d recomend picking it up.

I really struggled with hitting in '10 but its probably just because I suck

I was thinking of trying that PS Move too, but have no reason to really get it. Anything else its good for?

by PhoenicianPakFan on Apr 11, 2011 1:55 AM CDT up reply actions

Cue salesman voice

if you play any shooting games they are incorporating it more and more as an optional control style, as are almost all of the sports/fighting series. If you have any interest in strategy/military sims R.U.S.E has it pretty well integrated. And then the Sports Champions game that they usually bundle it with is pretty good too, especially the gladiator portion.

In short, Sony really does seem to think it will be a staple for them, as opposed to a gimic that will be phased out, and it seems to be better with each game they use it on.

I played shooting games on the Wii (which is what Sony is emulating) and honestly it was really subpar. Maybe it was technology where it was at with the Wii so if Sony has it down even better, maybe it will work…shooting games on the Wii sucked though. Really any serious gamer games sucked on the Wii…its why we moved to xbox. We loved it for when we had a bunch of friends over but sports and shooter games were terrible.

The Green Bay Packers...Putting bad coaches out of their misery since 2010

by TrevorR on Apr 12, 2011 9:36 AM CDT up reply actions

The Wii is a kid system

and as such it is cheap. Sony has much more precision and quality involved, as you would expect with the higher price tag. It also helps that there is a camera that tracks the motion along with the gyroscopic control Especially if you buy one of the “gun” peripherals, it doens’t feel drastically different from playing Time Crisis or Siphon Filter in an arcade, with regards to the shooters.

They're heating up at the right time.

3 straight wins, including tonight’s 98-91 OT win in Houston (first OT game all YEAR for them, oddly enough). And if the Fakers lose either of their last 2 games (vs SA, @ Sac), and the Mavs beat New Orleans in the season finale, they clinch the #2 seed.

Crazy, especially after watching them get whooped by 28 in LA…

What the hell…you don’t bench them in a HUGE game like the Laker game wehre you could have pushed the Lakers down to the 4 seed and then play them in a basically meaningless game (except to the Bulls). It WAS fun to see the reserves almost take down the Lakers though.

I can see why

we DO need to address the DL. We have Raji, and Neal, but Harrell can’t hold up through a pre-season, Jolly’s a moron, and Pickett’s getting up there in years.

Still though, Neal looked like a player in his time (granted it was brief) and Wilson was solid too. Pickett’s old but he probably will have 2-3 solid years left. He doesn’t rely on quickness like some DL do, which is typically the first thing to go.

If Houston is gone, then by all means take Heyward. But if he’s still on the board, I think it’d be a bad move.

Nowitski attempted 14 shots inside through 3 quarters

and completed on just 4 of them. Then he hit 3 shots, and ESPN’s ready to crown his butt.

This game was impossibly frustrating for both teams involved. Portland would go on a run, then hit a cold streak in which they were missing layups. Dallas thought that would be a good idea, did just that, and the tides reversed. rinse and repeat.

Dallas just hit way too much from outside for Portland to contend. When you have 30 points from deep, what you give up inside isn’t as much of a concern.
