Brett Favre Is Still Retired

I admit that I feel obligated to mention it anytime the Associated Press sends a reporter to Southern Mississippi in 100 degree heat to ask QB Brett Favre, again, about retirement. From SB Nation:

Favre might not be the most trustworthy source on Brett Favre at this point, but he did file retirement paperwork with the NFL in January. And, well, Is Brett Favre Retiring? still indicates that Brett Favre is retiring.

Here's the original story from AP:

Favre says he likes dealing with young players, "but in what capacity, I'm not really sure yet." He says he has enjoyed staying around Southern Miss but has "no plans right now and we'll see where that takes me."

back to the NFL

He’ll tell the Packers Vikings he wants to play, but not file the necessary un-retirement paperwork. When the Packers Vikings don’t take him seriously (because he just retired, after talking about retirement for years), he’ll create a media shitstorm about how they don’t really want to win, and make them look like the bad guys. He’ll then file the paperwork during training camp, show-up at Lambeau Winter Park, meet for a few hours, declaring that he feels disrespected and unwanted, then demand to be released (because he was treated unfairly), followed by crying injustice for being offered to pick 1 of 2 teams to get traded to.

Just kidding, it won’t happen that way… he’s a free agent.
