THE SIGNICANCE OF SEPTEMBER 12
The following facts have been missed by everyone – football journalists included.
The current (old ) CBA had language forbidding anti trust suits for six months
after the CBA expired. The current CBA expired March 11, 2011. Judge Haydon
in Minnesota has scheduled a hearing on the anti trust lawsuit September 12.
My opinion is that in that hearing the plaintiffs will be asked if they want to resubmit.
If there is a new CBA, probably not. If the lockout is still in effect, Brady et al
will decide 8 weeks or no weeks. Because it is quite clear the lockout will end
only by a new CBA or court action.

In the 2005 draft, the Packers first selected Aaron Rogers, who has spent most of his career in Favre’s shadow (will not elaborate, you know the story).
The 2nd round pick of the same draft has spent his career in the shadow of another great. He’s a safety and wears #36, which has made it difficult for Nick Collins to truly be embraced by so many Packer faithful. Maybe I’m just speaking for myself, but LeRoy was so loved for so many reasons, that my perspective on Collins started as “don’t bring shame to that number.”
Around the middle of February, however, I pondered the question of which current Packers (projecting that their careers continue on the current path) are possible/likely for Canton? Chuck, Rogers, Matthews, etc., but Collins never came up. I guess I still have Collins in LeRoy’s shadow, despite impressive stats, pro bowl appearances, and a signature Super Bowl moment.
All that being said, and having said really nothing about LeRoy, trying to determine which one is better is kinda like a parent saying which child they love the most. I just can’t do it.
Nick Collins is one of my favorite current Packers
and Butler is one of my all-time favorite Packers.
At this point I’d choose Butler, but I guess it will come down to how Collins plays in the coming years. If he continues playing like he has and retires a Packer, and shows as much commitment to the organization in his post-player days it will be too difficult to decide. Butler was a great player and has remained a great Packer, and Collins won’t be able to beat that until he’s been retired a few years and can show his dedication to the organization.

A comparison is easy to make w/ these two. Both are great ball hawks and play their positions very well. Collins is in the middle of his NFL career and has put up terrific numbers so far. If Collins keeps it up for another 4 or 5 years, he could surpass Butler. It kinda pains me to say it since LeRoy is one of my favorite Packers ever. But at this point Collins is ahear in INT’s, Forced Fumbles and turnover plays in general. Butler was the first 20 sack/20 INT guy in the NFL and Collins won’t catch Butler in sacks. But he might easily surpass him in turnover plays and they are more important than sacks.
Right now slight edge to LeRoy based on longevity. But Collins is coming hard and if he has 6 more years (to match LeRoys 12 yr career) of good production he will pass LeRoy.
You've been Stroh'd™!!!
How about this one:

Well I don't know about him being cooler than anyone....

because as you said, he has 3 DUI’s which is not really all that cool.
But what the article talks about him doing is pretty cool.

DUIs and the NFL
I don’t care if you’re an undrafted rookie – if you’re in the NFL you can afford the damn taxi.
I live in Minnesota. Should I be looking out for Jared Allen out driving around? If I see a Camaro/El Camino speeding and weaving with a mullet hanging out the window, flapping around in the wind, you can bet I’m ducking for cover.
